Fatshark will upgrade it to the same one in the V3's for about £30 but to be honest it's not massively better.

what happens if you drop the britnes on the camera osd, so its dark in the goggles, then up the brightness on the goggles, it may not effect the on bored DVR when you change the live feed making it slimier to what you are seeing.
sorry for the (?) G

LOS not enough room. ;-)

You're better off setting the camera to its optimum settings then using the goggles settings to optimise it on the day. Finalglideaus did a good video on YouTube about this and I just use his settings. They work pretty well.

Yes, this washed out and overbright image is well known on the Fat Shark Goggle DVR....What you see in the goggles is not what its recording like.....Not even close.....Why would Fat Shark design it this way?...Beats me.

My cheapo Hobby King DVR does the opposite, it will typically record a slightly darker image than what the Monitor shows me in a live feed.  To fix this, I usually only have to switch on the Cameras WDR and / or boost the brightness a little.

The Monitor has a massive brightness range, so I can always adjust this to suit my viewing preference, but, the Camera's dynamic range is still of prime importance though i find. You can of course reduce that massive over brightness post process, but that's not desirable really is it? That recording has had the full Domestos bleaching effect.

Considering how much a pair of FSs Goggles are, it's pretty appalling really, I agree.

Where you recording from a GS rather than built in module?

Ratty

Does it do the same when recording direct off the in build module?

We have had this issue at races when using long cables from ground stations. I am not sure why tho.

Ratty

If you use a long enough wire it can effect the live feed as well.

I assume the live feed has slightly better signal boosting than the DVR, but that is just a guess. I have no idea how they actually work.
