I'm adding 2.4 to the MD, whats peoples recommendation for the best one out there?

I use both the cheap boscam ones or the immersion rc. Not noticed much difference between them TBH.

IRC are very consistent around 650mW. The Boscam TS321 are not that consistent but can put out up to 1W. Mine does 750mW.
Also the TS321 has onboard mic.

The ImmersionRC ones are the only Immersion vtx's I've had that have never failed which I can recommend. But not really tried the others to compare.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Aomway 200mw. Smaller and lighter than the IMRC. Reliable and run cooler than most small vtx's. I wouldn't waste my money on overpriced IMRC vtx's.

I've used an IRC 2.4GHz tx.  Was good, but I don't really have anything to compare it against.  According to my little power meter doofer thing, it was (is?) putting out around 640mW or so.  It was plenty enough to do a 12km flight when testing it, which is way more than enough for me!

The only issue I did have when using it, was that when flying at my local RC club, there was always some bands of interference when other people were using 2.4GHZ RC transmitters.  Easily solved by switching to 5.8GHz though...

I've had a couple of the 5.8GHz txs fail randomly.  One day they work fine, the next day, the range is reduced to about 30 metres at best...

Didn't know they did a 2.4g vtx. Got a link?

Me too, I would never recommend an ImmersionRC 5.8Ghz Vtx to anyone. But the 2.4's have worked flawlessly

Same here, all my wings/talon etc use these and are faultless.
