So I am considering putting together a second 250. What's the most popular Flight Controller being used at the moment that will use Betaflight?

There are so many choices, and so many good controllers. However, if I had to pick one, it would be the Rotorgeeks SSD F3.

Not the most feature packed board out there, but absolutely rock solid performance, really well made and good value. Currently no UK stockists that I've found, but my last couple have turned up pretty quickly regardless.

If I could get one pre soldered I would be interested. I am having real issues getting my Naze32 rev 6 set up on Betaflight again.

There's too many to choose from these days.  I like ones with OSD's intergrated in - so useful for both monitoring lipo voltage, as well as being able to do easy tunes in the field.

Last build I did I used an Omnibus F3 board from Banggood https://www.banggood.com/Betaflight-F3-AIO-V1_1-Flight-Controller-with-Integrated-OSD-p-1086563.html The pinouts are a little weird and need attention, but you can run it from the full vbat voltage, so no need for a regulated PDB.

It's flying nicely - I like it !

The days f4 is what I'm using. Seems ok so far.

Can you shed a bit more light on the pinout issue? and what version of betaflight firmware?

Take a look at the pin layout of the board on this page (or many others) http://www.dronetrest.com/t/omnibus-f3-aio-quickstart-guide/2759

I found it a bit weird because of the lack of many labels and how some things are arranged vertically and other horizontally.  The most weird thing is the jumper you can solder to run the VTX/Camera at battery voltage or 5v.

On my last build I bypassed this completely just bringing the video in/out through the board, but running my VTX on it's own power which also put out a clean 5v to the camera.  But it needed no other regulators on a PDB or anything.

What version of betaflight ?  Whatever you write to it, 3.1.7 currently on mine

I am thinking of upgrading from the Naze 32 rev6 as they keep burning out the supply to rx. Don't think I have anything wired wrong but it means that the rx won't power up from the USB port to,test the radio etc. Means I have to put a lipo on, then Betaflight won't change menus.

Raceflight Revolt with Betaflight is the combo of choice by the pros at the moment.

Not sure betaflight is being developed anymore is it?

Have you seen the FC video from painless 360? He explains a bit about all of them which I found quite interesting. Take a look on the tube, it might give you another idea.

That video is 18 months old now, unless he's done a new one.

Yeah but it's informative. The nice thing is he's doing vids on the pixhawk 2 cube which is nice as I have one ready for the big twin. 😁

I just want a good FC for a 250 that won't get overloaded. F3 or F4. Fed up with snaggy problems like having difficulty in connecting sbus etc that I am having with an omnibus at the moment.
