Yeah that was going to be my next question, I think I'm right on the manual CoG so I will add a bit of nose weight and see if things improve any. Slightly annoying as I thought I had it right before I cut the battery bay so will just need to add dead weight. Still, shouldn't take much to knock it forward a little bit.

You could start off with dead weight for testing but if you find it flies better could just enlarge the battery bay 5-10mm to shift the battery forward. I had to do the opposite and needed to shift it back

Don't people build these super light? Is it really surprising it struggles with wind?

I prefer heavy wings. Load them up and a decent wing will love it! Handle the wind better too!

So I did a bit more testing today with some glorious weather here, hardly any wind and blue skies for miles! To shift the CoG forward instead of adding dead weight I strapped another runcam on to look backwards, as I figured this would also give me a look at what the wings were doing. It did behave better with the CoG further forward, but there is still a bit of bouncing going on. With the rear view I can see the wings are still flexing a bit so I'll try adding some more sparring towards the tips.

Also now have plenty of footage so will try and put together a review video!

You missed something in the video- you showed your first attempt at central fins then skipped to the new ones. Why did you change them? they looked quite different.

Great comparison to the HC44. They do look remarkably similar.

Cheers! The first ones were messy and hand cut, so I knocked up a proper profile in Inkscape and cut them with my laser engraver so they are much neater, and also a bit longer so help reduce wag even more.

Do you think they're having a big effect or was it mostly adding the toe in to the winglets that stopped the wag?

I'm not 100% sure to be honest, I added them straight away so I haven't actually flown it without them. I should really do it as a trial but now it's flying the way I want I'm loathe to mess with it! :P

I probably should have said that in the video right enough, it's much easier to try the toe out first if you already have the plane. That said, many people are perfectly happy with the way it flies stock in the first place. :)
