Hi there just a quick question on what would be recomended set dual rates for the mini talon as my throws are currently 100% default and very sensitive in manual mode? regards trevor

I'd consider myself a noob really. I've never bothered with dual rates. It's always been 100%. But I fly 99% fpv. Only Los for chucking. If that makes a difference.

Hi, I have dual rates set up and find it easier to fly on low rates especially on take off as it is overly sensitive on 100%. I also have some expo dialled in to smooth things out.

If it's always too sensitive on full rates then the thing to do is reduce the throws mechanically, otherwise you are just losing resolution from the servos and having them work at a mechanical disadvantage.

Simple just step it down 10 or 20% and try it. Keep going until you like it.

Thanks guys to be honest ive left the rates at 100% for take off  in manual mode im ok once up in the air. But to be honest im beginning to regret buying this plane i just cant get it trimmed right ! If i apply throttle it climbs like crazy but when i put down trim in  it just loses altitude quickly just cant get it to fly level at 50% throttle. My c of g is as recomeneded on the servo wire and it balances perfect. the autopilot im useing is (mfd) and its a precondition to get it flying well in (manual mode) before trying (stb) so when i switch to stb mode and apply throttle it flys like a dolphin up and down, I took the autopilot out of the fx61 were it worked perfectly no problems at all, its a strange one for me this mini talon, I have to be honest i am no expert but regarding settings in the autopliot i dont know were to start. On the positive side the plane current draw is really good 20mins flying and only used 25% of the battery, so for flying time is really good but it flys like a brick!  not nice at all really. My other plane MFD was sorted by coyote (ian) and have never had to adjust any settings at all flys great. sorry for throwing my toys out of the pram but this talon is a pig!! regards trevor

Bondafide pirate has pretty much a perfect setup (as usual), might be worth a watch:
