Lost my current flying field  :(

So looking for a new field to fly from ideally near Blackpool, Lytham, Poulton, Fleetwood etc?
Ideally not a BMFA affiliated one as they seem a bit too restrictive. i.e. you must be able to loop the loop to pass a test to fly unsupervised etc. Don't get me wrong I am all for safety but they seem to take it to the next level and sort of quash the enjoyment.

Just want to have a place to fly safely and maybe meet other pilots.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Where have you been flying
I had been flying on a nice field where I had a static caravan. But sold the caravan yesterday  :(
So no access to field any more  :(

Amazing! I think you are totally misinformed regarding BMFA Basic Proficiency Cert. Aerobatics are definitely not required until the B and C cert level. The basic tests are just take off, fly a couple of circuits, figure of 8, and a couple of landings. Answer a few questions on safety and air law, job done, benefit is solo flight in any club.
I have 15 or so clubs within an hour of my home and only one allows solo flight with no cert and quite honestly having seen some of the acts there I wouldn't join.

I am sorry for not being upto date. Last time I read the Multirotor A test was back in early 2015. I don't think there was a proficiency test at that time so A was minimum and I seem to remember it did require acrobatics.

Please don't get me wrong, I am happy to fly safely and be tested. I would not want to be in an area where pilots were not flying safely.

I have just read the 2017 multirotor achievement tests and they do now seem reasonable.

Local clubs near me do require an A or B cert to fly unsupervised. They do not seem to recognise the BMFA Basic Proficiency Cert at all!

I apologise for being miss informed.

Maybe it's just seeing a 40 page document that makes the system look over complicated and sort of unfriendly.
I guess when I go and see a BMFA affiliated club and actually chat to people it will be more friendly?

I am sure you will find them right club will be friendly. You need to find one that will accept multi rotor and fixed wing together. Try the club finder on the web site.

Cheers. I have found 1 club relatively local which does accept multirotors. Fingers crossed when I have moved house and settled in I will arrange to visit them.

Thanks for your help.
