inav settings for Ranger ex airplane

im about to maiden my new Volantex Ranger ex with inav and need advice on initial settings.  Plan to do auto-trim first to set servos.  Using omnibus f4 pro FC btw.

After that I'll do an auto tune flight to tune the piff parameters.  My question is what parameters should I input in the CLI prior to the autotune flight.  I see posts on settings for wings, but this is a big oil' lumbering plane and I fear crashing it in auto tune if my initial settings are too hi or lo. 

Also, stupid question:  when I fly it with Autotune mode on, do I also have it in another mode such as passthrough, horizon, or Angle?  Which one?
