Hi guys

I have 4 Wraith 32 ESC's on my quad and when connecting to BL-Heli Suite ESC 1 and 2 are present and correct and will flash fine.

ESC 3 shows : erased or unknown firmware, BLHeli Bootloader h

ESC 4 shows : ---

In betaflight if I go to the motor tab I can control both ESC 3 and 4 so they are working, does anyone know a way to fix the issue ?

Only a guess but do the 32bit BLHeli esc need a different suite to the 16bit ones?

Coyote

Yes it does, but that's the suite I'm using.

Managed at one point to flash ESC 3 and 4. Set all the LEDs to red so I could tell if they stored the flash, after a few power cycles 3 and 4 went back to bright white again and won't flash :(

I know it may sound silly but could you temp swap 1&2 signal lines with 3&4 and see if that makes a difference? Other than that any way you can use a flashing tool (usbasp) and try flashing the old fashioned way?

Coyote

A good suggestion swapping the inputs to see if the fail follows the esc or not.

Hmm, on pulling apart the PDB / FC I found a slight discolouration in the ribbon cable linking the two boards. Luckily I have a spare so swapped it out, now the ESC both flashed, so I will when I get in tonight give them a soak test but it looks like a faulty cable was the cause so far.

That's great news. Well spotted. It won't be long till it's in the air now.

Thanks, still alive and showing no problems so looks like the ribbon was the cause. So glad I didn't have to desolder and send them back :)
