Latest from the CAA.

Initially it is a very daunting 238 pages. Don't despair though.
If you search the document (Ctrl + f) for "model aircraft" you will be taken to the relevant sections which indicate that the CAA will liaise with recognised model aircraft associations. Expect to get more on this shortly from the BMFA, SAA, LMA, etc.

So I tried looking through this... and as far as I can work out:

Class 0 (would be stuff like MobulaHD6 quadcopter, < 250g) [Fly anywhere]
Class 1 (would be slightly larger quads / aircraft, perhaps ZOHD Dart style builds, <0.9 kg) [Fly anywhere]
Class 2 (would be Easystar type builds, maybe Skywalker/ SkyHunter etc, <4 kg) Only away from people, also requires a "low speed mode"

But I guess that's only for "CE" rated kit... so the likes of our custom builds will be covered under:

Quote
Unmanned aircraft which do not comply with the requirements of classes C0 to C4 are
able to continue to be operated indefinitely within subcategory A3 (far from people) and, if
they are less than 250g, within subcategory A1 (over people).

In which case I have to ask... why bother with the individual classes? Why not simply have what we used to have which was <=25kg and >25kg.
