I've been using a Caddx Caddx Turbo S1 like this:

which seems to do the job for me, but they no longer make it & I'm after something similar for another model.  any suggestions for something cheap & cheerful, but not too crap for £20-25 please?

Have you tried one of these for a fiver. Its got a memory card slot, tv out and its a dvr. Ive had a few there cheap enough to try and not like. Used to have it as a dash cam. Quite liked them for what they are.

Curry Kitten gave the Caddx Ratel a great review.

thanks, that looks pretty nice.  stupid question, but will 1200TVL work with my eachine EV100 goggles that I'm using with my current 600TVL camera?

thanks.  does that satisfy the "not too crap" requirement?  I have an Eachine TX03 AIO camera & that really is too crap   ;D

Yes its ok. The build is good and image is far above what youd expect for a five quid camera.

The tv lines (TVL) thing is a bit weird, I don't fully understand it as PAL is 720 × 576 pixels.
TV Lines are a measure of horizontal resolution. The test to determine tvlines uses a 'test card' and the number of alternative black and white lines that can be seen.
I would say that the number of tvlines is a very rough guide to the 'quality' of the image! So the higher the better. I think it's a bit of a throw back to the first fpv cameras that were really just cctv cameras.

Analogue video so restricted to PAL is 720 × 576 pixels 25 frames per second or NTSC is 720 x 525 pixels 30 frames per second.

The ev100 will be fine. A good image will help you fly as you can see better details and more details in shadows or bright sunshine.

thanks - I'd never quite worked out how 600TVL worked either, just that it did!
