what are those things that stop lines in your goggles/on DVR?

not quite sure what I'm after here - high-/low-pass filter?  or is that for RF?

basically whatever it is that stop you getting lines in your goggles/on DVR recordings.  from interference from the ESC iirc.

& any recommendations of what to get would be good too.  many thanks  :)

Normally a low pass filter on the power to the vtx. Also you could add a low esr capacitor to your power lead.
Also try and make sure the camera and vtx are both powered from same source (if possible, depends on supply voltage) but also have the camera ground and vtx ground connected to the exact same pad on FC otherwise you can get 'earth loops' which might not help.

As for where to buy them try ebay for capacitors and maybe for low pass filters.

You are referring to an LC Filter that is placed on the powerline to the Vtx / camera.

This will smooth everything out but only if the clean power coming out from the LC Filter stays away from external dirty sources.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)
