Haha, go for it Steve.

When you have it all up and running this summer I will have to meet you for a flying session and a go with the goggles.

I really fancy the system but last year bought the Skyzone oleds 3 which put my old Fatshark goggles back in the dark ages.

I am mainly flying quads now but with all the analogue gear I have I am reluctant to spend more at present.

Looking forward to some videos from you.

....and true to form it's now blowing 47-55mph winds, lmao.

Coyote

I see on DJI's website that they have discontinued the Digital FPV System!

WTF

Very disconcerting, apparently they are still supplying the air unit only.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

It appears they've discontinued the air-unit, controller and camera.  Caddx will continue to make the Vista and take over manufacture of the air-unit.

FPVSteve

Thing is, the air unit doesn't have the Ocusync 3 that the DJI FPV has - so maybe they're going to put out a v2...

Coyote

I am ready to buy now, but holding off until some clarity comes in.

DJI released a statement saying they will "be continuing to manufacture a system of equal performance to the air unit but via a partner"

Probably worth looking at it like this...

The new DJI FPV system uses Oculus 3 protocol whereas the air units are using Oculus 2 ... I have no comparison to make as I've not used the v1, but from what I hear, v2 is miles ahead of the v1. If that is the case then it makes sense for DJI to focus on the better tech and license the v1 tech out to Caddx so that v1 customers still have a product.

Coyote

Yeah that's a pretty good way of loking at it, and a good reason I held out for now.

Steve, might be a good idea to have a read of this.

From post 10788.

All up in he air again.

Being able to see flying into the sun is what go me when I first got them. (pic from the  goggles recording)

FPVSteve

Yep - I mean it doesn't really matter, I'm already "in" as I bough the DJI Drone + goggles combo.

It doesn't really seem to have any competition so it seems to me that there's either an "accept it's DJI and take a punt" or "stay analogue" choice.
