Coyote... re slope soarers yes they should have a good chance. do the rules exclude them from a landing below take off altitude ??

Absolutely, the 400ft altitude is from launch point up, no going below launch point or that would be greater than 400ft
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

well I got out today, with one thing on my schedule and that was to enter a video before the glider boys get going, its a new spot and I nearly lined up my landing strait in to a goal posts, so had to blip the throttle to clear them for about 1 second, so this may be disqualified, I will leave it to you, but the time is just over 2 minits.
Its a bit flickery, its the first time I have used my video splitter and I don't think its working properly, my view was great in the goggles.

So I thought I'd have a go at this with my easy glider. Conditions weren't great, gusty strong wind. But the sun did just peek out to generate one weak thermal. Bar raised to 5.22

400ft Challenge

Question though, what happens if you catch a thermal that takes you back over 400ft, does the clock stop and start again once back down to 400ft?

Excellent work there Brucy, we were on about going back to 400ft on chat, I suppose its down to Gordon, but I would agree that starting the clock again would be fair to others

Smashed! Great job! Ian I don't agree, I think as long as you start at 400ft, that's all that's needed. The best pilot on the day, with the best plane, reading the weather and finding the thermals is what it's all about...?

I think its fine to go back up to 400ft or 121M if you get more lift, but if you go over, you are braking the rules of the CAA and the challenge, Just keep an eye on your altitude, 400ft is the limit.
