EZUHF Question

I am new to UHF so please excuse the dim questions.

I want to put the receiver antennas half way down the tail boom.

Is it better to put the receiver out on the tail boom and have long servo leads to the main fuselage body or to put the receiver in the main body and have extension leads out to the antennas???

If the latter how do you make the antenna extension leads??

Hi bud, I was looking into this myself when setting mine up, I remember reading that certain type of antenna (sander style I think??) are effected in the use of extension leads on them as the leads effectively increase the antetta's length de-tuning it.

I have my rx on long servo leads with antennas directly on rx.

Also in ealier posts, it's said a good way to tune them (as depending on materials used in the antenna sleves the length will differ) is to make a 180mm set & trim to length using rssi readouts.

Just checked the length of my firstpersonview 459 antennas - they're indeed 155mm

Don't know if they're "tuned" to the materials, that is something you'll have to ask Simon Dale.

Btw they seem to work fine on my plane - now I've had my ezuhf TX replaced for a working unit. Not tested massive range just Los flights for tests but new tx & antennas work way better than old unit.
