Cool.  Those FY21AP IIs are bloody brilliant.

I've ordered our first batch of FY21AP II + OSD and we'll have these in stock soon.

I have the OSD version as well.

I wouldnt mind trying a FY20a myself, they seem to get good feedback as well, might be worth stocking too :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I have one too, only bench tested it at the minute but impressed with what Ive seen. But its a real birds nest of wires inside the cramped Easystar now  :laugh:..

Yes, it is a lot of wires.

I'm tempted to put it all in an old 2 metre glider I have (fibreglass fuselage'd, foam & balsa wing).
Simply oodles of room in the fuze, glides well and with a brushless on it a'la Easystar and ailerons it'd stay up for an hour++

I have 2 individualy controlled aileron servos in the Easystar and this is not supported on the FY21AP (other than a Y cable, but then they are no longer individually controlled).

Someone care to enlighten me exactly what a FY21AP Mk2 is?
I pressume some sort of auto pilot ish thingy  ;)

Its a stand alone autopilot unit that can stabilise an aircraft, in more technical language, its a strap down inertial reference system. Doesnt need infra-red thermopile sensors or light sensors to detect the aircrafts attitude in flight, and can therefore be used to keep the aircraft straight and level in any weather conditions, or recover it from a spin ect.. It also can return the aircraft to the launch point and circle it overhead in the event of a radio failure and subsequent failsafe. These two features can also be turned on or off via the transmitter. So that, if you wanted to, you could fly out and tell the aircraft to circle a point at a constant altitude, or have the aircraft fly back to you at a constant altitude while you look at the scenery.

Forgot to mention, you can also use their OSD too and its a simple plug'n'play with the autopilot unit. The screen is a bit too cluttered for me, but it does give you a very good artifical horizon on screen.
There is also very, very little drift in the unit, and any drift is usually down to the thermal conditions, i.e. using a warm unit in cold ambient air.

When I originally built the EZ*, I gutted a fair bit of the interior to fit a 2300 3S battery.
I need even more space for the FY21AP and with it's anti-vibration tray/mount, the space was nowhere near enough.

As you can see, I cut a hatch in the side and gutted some more foam and part of the internal carbon fibre stiffener I originally put in.
Some foam I was able to remove with a scalpel and the rest I burnt out with a solderin iron.
The fuselage is now only 10mm thick in some places to get the anti vibe damper tray inside.
I plan to put another short stiffener on the under belly of the fuze.

I plan on putting my RC Rx to the left of the hatch, in a small compartment I originally hollowed out but never used.
Then the FY21AP, then the FY21AP OSD etc (either just above or most likely in front of the ant vibe damper).

In short, yes, it's very tight to get it inside an EasyStar !
