I was at Keiths just now and he was mentioning a transmitter one of his mates had.

It was a Eurgle. Its a really cheap transmitter. The case doesn`t scream class but......................

Its really feature packed, he said how much easier and flexible the menu`s were to use. It came with fm antenna built in but also had a 2.4ghz module on the back. Having the module meant you could swap between 35mhz, 2.4ghz and plug in  UHF system with no mods at all

It has three pots on board for pan and tilt and still have a spare.

Best of all for new pilots, or someone not wanting to buy second hand or pay through the nose is the price :)

Brand new, 9 channels, interchangable modules 60 quid plus postage :)

Got to be of interet to some of us

It takes a lot to impress ole Keith so when he said if he knew about that before getting his mmuch more expensive DX6I then he would of says great things about it. After a good play with it he loved it :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I think TX's like this will keep the Lower frequency bands alive as most mainstream manufacturers are phasing them out in favour of 2.4GHz. (God knows why!! 2.4GHz sucks!!)

Nice find Ian!!

May be especially handy for those wishing to make full use of the likes of a Dragonlink with so many channel controls and an RF unit.

Now you tell me, Ive just forked out £150 for a second hand 9CAP...  Doh!!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with 2.4Ghz.  A DX6i (on US settings) -> AR62100 and you would hard pushed to take it to it's range limit LOS and even get good range FPV.

Trouble is the UK we kinda need to use that band for video so it rules it out.

This Eurgle is now £99 minimum what I could find online. How could this be converted to 35mhz, any ideas ?
Thanks  ;D

Coyote's posting tells us it has interchangeable RF modules. Job done. All you have to do is locate a 35MHz one. I'm not sure how easy that will be though.

I suppose it could be made to work with it

Any chance something like this would fit: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Futaba-FP-TK-FM-RF-Module-Transmitter-35Mhz-/400182634538?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item5d2cbe682a
:-\

Possibly, but you would have to know the pinouts to avoid blowing anything.
Unfortunately unless you can get a 35MHz RF module specifically made for the Tx you will find that it is not type certified or CE approved. You will therefore most likely invalidate your 3rd party liability insurance.

Your best bet for a cheap 35MHz Tx would be second hand. I bought a mint condition JR PCM 9X II c/w aluminium case, mains charger and XT simulator for £150 on Ebay. The Tx alone costs at about £300.

A JRX2610 or Futaba/Hitec equivalent secondhand could actually work out cheaper and you would have UK service and spares backup.

Has anyone tried the Turnigy 9 channel 2.5g form HK yet? The price is good but is it like a lot of their products, built to a price?

yep i use that TX right now bruv ;) LOVE IT TO BITS imagine a 9 channel TX that you can hack and put almost any firmware you want in it? imagine a frequency hopping spread spektrum 8ch RX for $8.99 yes $8.99 not £89.00 (cough futaba cough) then finally imagine the look on my face when my turnigy 9x arrived with the 5 extra RX's i bought so 6 8ch RX and one TX and the price for the lot was £81 pounds DELIVERED TO MY DOOR!!!  :o :o MY FREAKING DOOR!!!

i didnt even have to get up and get dressed, make calls to the local hobby shop to find out they dont got the the spektrum dx8 or dx10 yet but the hobby shop 50 miles away has it massage my missus till she got in the car and drove me miles away (£20/30 in petrol?) so i could great customer support IF a problem arose

i modded it for 7.4 lipo cut the trace from the on board buzzer (no beep every time you so much as look at it no more) put in a lipo alarm and a second power switch so that when i turn it off new lipo alarm wont get power and left the default firmware in it as  is (seens they fixed the dual rates vs expo saga) so far no problems :)

think i read somewhere that someone range tested one of these stock to 6.5 kilometers? and 1 meter height from the ground? dont quote me on that though as i cant be arsed to go look for the link  ;D

£56.52 all in, just had to be done!

Yes ok, the "in stock" one is mode 1, but that is 5 mins with a soldering iron to swap the pots over so no big deal.
