Ah soz, thought you wanted a skew
Bad news though, don't do them, they are to big for the machines I have access to
Sorry about that

My helical is spot on so far. Only been out to 700m so far as it was windy and I've not had time to fly  properly but had zero dropout on a 250mw with bignose skew on the plane ... skew to skew I normally start to bottle it because the interference starts getting a little much.

Happy as a pig in poo :D

I knew leaving that tiny brass cover off was the way forward  :great:

Depends really how far you want to fly mate
If it's just within a couple of Kilometres then a3 turn is great
A little further then I'd go for a 5
If you want to fly to the moon then a 12 is pretty good, however, you'd need a tracker with a 12,
Hope that helps

Hi Bignose13!
Heard about your antennas on the interwebtubes and here I am ready to make an order.
My current setup is a Phantom2 with an ImmersionRC 600mW TX with an Spironet V2 4 lobe skew planar antenna, Right-hand circular polarization.
For the RX I have an Black pearl LCD with diversity.
I'm looking for a say 5 turn helical for some range.
Is there much difference in directionality 3 vs 5 turns?

I had a bit of a crash and one of my Spironets got bent (hard crash, lost the plastic enclosure completely). Going by the receiver, it seems it's worse now than the rubber ducky I got.
Don't know if I should go for one of your skews or get another set of Spironets? Why do you recon?

cheers

Hi Mate
For the Helical it really all depends how far you want to fly,
The beamwidth on the 3 is about 62 degrees and for the 5 just a tad under 50 degrees, so a drop of about 10ish degrees but you'll get further at a loss of beam close in, it's your choice really mate, have a think about it
As for the Skews, I'll always say use mine, I'm biased of course but think mine are up there with the best and cheaper, just ask around
I can get covers for the smaller skews to go on the phantom which will stop any little accidents, have a look at the pics a couple of posts up
Lead time at the moment is about 7 days as well, just to let you know
Thanks
Simon

Ah, no my question was  about mixing yours and ImmersionRC one, as your design is a bit different than ImmersionRC.

That is ok.

Yeah mine will match with any skews or cloverleafs so long as I know which polarisation they are

Hi,

I have just joined after seeing a video of your transmitters by RC model reviews on YouTube.  I have tried to PM you but get a message saying an error occurred?  Bottom line I have just ordered Sky zone goggles and would like to buy a helical antenna and a pair of skews but would like some advice as I am fairly new to FPV, could you PM me so I can get in touch?  Current set up is: -

DJI F550 with Naza 2 and mini OSD, GoPro Hero 3 on Zenmuse 3d gimbal, Black pearl diversity monitor with fat shark clover leaf antenna, Immersion RC transmitter with Fat shark clover leaf.

If what I have read and seen is right I think I want a pair of skews, 1 on Tx and one on Sky zone diversity Rx, with Helical on other diversity channel on Sky zones?  Sorry if  I have any of the terminology wrong, as I said new to this but keen to learn more and get the correct gear.

Cheers

Hi Mate and welcome to the forum
Yep, you will need a helical and skew antenna on the BP monitor and and skew on the vtx on the Phantom
I do hundreds of these for the Phantom/multirotors with a screen as the main screen
I'll pm you now so you can email me
Cheers
