I've used both Nanos (3300 4S) and Multistars (4000 4S). The nanos fit slightly better and give probably just as good range as the Multis. Brucey uses Zippy 3000's and flies just as long as I do on those.

I'm near Bedford.

What sort of spray paint is safe for the Vent?

Jake, you can use paint from Halfords, I used Matt Black plastic car spray on mine. I'm not so keen on the effect you get after laminating over the top, if I did it again I think I'd used some coloured laminate.

Cheers Dave ,I may just put some packing tape stripes on it and lam over the top.
If I ever get around to building it :+

How about zippy compact? The yellow ones. And the flight time how long usualy long you can stay in the air.

Brucey

I've not tried the compacts. With my batteries I can manage about 30mins of cruise.

There's nothing compact about Brucey.  :P

Hi I picked a 2nd hand venturi up over the weekend from the local model shop. It came without any manual has any one got a copy or at least info on the throws please.

My throws were 15mm low and 20mm high in each direction with about 30% expo, my CG is 190mm back from the leading wing edge.

Sorry but I don't have a manual.

Pull your finger out and get it done :D Much more exciting to fly than the FX61, I'm hoping to put 1.3 video in it so I can fly farther lower. No idea about 1.3 though!

Hi Guys,

Nearly finished my Venturi Evo, just a few bits to do.  Am waiting for some vinyl to come, need to shove the airspeed sensor in and do a bit of tidying up.

I've run some of the wiring under the ply floor just to keep it a bit tidier.  Hopefully I won't have to access it too often.  I'm just hot gluing the bottom panel in place so I should be able to get it off again if needs be.

I'm using the fy41 from my now dead Z2 as well as the L9R rx , batts and servos too.  Having spent so much on fpv over the last 2 or 3 years, I just wanted to put together a plane that wasn't very expensive.  I've gone for an Aomway 600mw VtX  which was around half the price of the immersion ones I've always used so I'll be interested to see how it does.  Got the mobius from the Z2 and a new sony Effio  cam.

Motor is an NTM 35-36 1800kv on 4S. I'll have to see how it all balances up to decide whether the motor is inboard or outboard.

Will keep you posted with a finished pic and hopefully a successful maiden,  :D

Regards

Mark

Nice build.

One benefit of outboarding the NTM is you can use the prop adapters that screw to the can. I have two of those motors on another wing and the shafts sheared as soon as I gave it full throttle.

Hi Ipeel,

I hadn't even seen the prop adaptors that screw to the can.  I'll check out that idea.

I have bust 2 shafts on the NTM motors but both through rough landings.

Thanks

Mark

If the 28mm can adapters fit the 26mm I have loads of them and could send you one if you want?

If you haven't got any "in stock" let me know and I'll check.
