Go with the larger capacity ones, there's plenty of space in side and you'll need the weight up front for the CG.

By the way, one thing I noticed on my old Storm is that when I went fast, the thing started to oscillate in pitch. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QipMNgqMTvQ

The Storm is a fair bit thicker with a wider chord wing, so I assume it won't be an issue. Could also have been flutter I suppose.

So does the Venturi come with standard sheet elevons? That's not so good if so, I'd replace them with thicker balsa parts and plane them down to a nice taper.

someone will be along shortly to tell you, but I have the Falcon EVO FPV and it came with substantial balsa elevons which when laminated are solid as a rock and hardly twist or flex

Yeah it comes with balsa elevons, once laminated they will be fine, 100mph and still great control authority.
iPeel has experimented with different elevons made from trailing edge stock.

Another question, any chance 2 4000mAH 4s Nano techs would fit? Dimensions are 173x48x26mm, vs 147x44x26mm for the 3300 4s.

Edit: another question, this time regarding lamination. I've covered balsa models many times so I can use an iron etc..., but how well does the lam stick? I can use balsaloc if required. Also, I got the 75 micron stuff from flyingwings, what temperature will it require?

I have the turnigy iron from hobbyking UK warehouse... I had mine set to 2/3 the way from off to full, but I experimented with the film on the stock foam the centre piece is cut from.

you won't need any spray glue, the film sticks great:

I'm not sure about the batteries, 3300 fit nice,  with a bit of space to adjust for cg. It will also provide 30 of cruise,  which is enough for me!
Not sure about an exact temp for the laminate, I use the household iron! Experiment, but I suprised how hot you can get it, it's the foam that melts first.

It varies depending on the film, try tacking it at 110-115 degrees on a spare bit of foam and it should be stuck firm but possible to pull off again with a good bit of force.

I usually tack the film in place at a bit lower temperature first then increase the temperature a bit (my iron doesn't have a readout) when the whole wing is tacked down to get the final finish.

I've just joined the Venturi owners club with a part built one that I've acquired from a friend :-)  Also have a Ritewing Z2 motor to go on it (1200kv I think) and 80a esc. Also thinking I should really go UHF and 1.3 for this so I can fly nice and low but that will add a whole other level of expense of I decide to do that
