Fly mine with a 1500 3s, great little wing

Lol...a long way from a 4000mah 3S...So, Sir Dave, where did you have the CG?...On the provided moulded nubs?

A friend of me flys his Z84 with 2200mAh 4S LiPo, AUW 520g. FC+iNav, 800mW Vtx, GPS....
Flys really nice and 30-45min flight time
He will put in a 3000mAh LiIon made of LG HG2 cells. This weighs exactly or even less than the now used 2200mAh LiPo.
I think even a 4S2P 7000mAh of 18650GA weighing 420g will be flyable in this plane. The Z84 has 17dm² wing area.
So lets assume the Z84 weighs completely equipped with all fancy stuff without battery around 300g, now we add the 4S 7000mAh with 420g we are at 720g....
With 17dm² this results in just 42g/dm².... my SkyFun has higher wing loading....just my 2 cents

I would like to try one of these LiLon packs. So what's the equivalent to 3s 2600 and a 4s 2600?

Edit
Sorry I know this is the wrong thread but thought I would ask.

One 18650 cell weighs around 48g, but you can calculate with 50g beause of wires, connector, heatshrink..
Then there are different cells out there, but only two are really interesting: Sanyo 18650GA 3500mAh and LG HG2 3000mAh
The Sanyo have max 10A discharge and the LG have max 20A
So for a Sanyo 3S2P: 7000mAh, 300g, cont. discharge 20A
and for LG 3S2P: 6000mAh, 300g, cont. discharge 40A

One thing to consider is battery heat... for the 18650GA you should really not use more than 1C continues discharge as the battery gets very warm and you wont be able to use its whole capacity

Can you please post the link to the UK model shop that is supplying these packs ready made?

Finally I got my Omnibus F4 V2.1 to have a play with  :D
Surely this will be the one I get fully working with all the bells and whistles (?)

DHL man just arrived at the door with a package demanding £18 off me to see it (normally I get a text through that I can pay online - but not this time) the package contained a rather beaten up box containing a FuriBee Nebula 230.  I have a rather grumpy dog in the photo who thought she was just about to go on a walk.

Feels slightly bigger and heavier that the last batch of quads I looked at, but as far as steps forward go, this has a proper FrSky XM in it (I think, it's no XM+ but better than the tiny compatible rx's that have been showing up) and has a proper battery strap - yay.

Weird purple coloured body.  I don't know if it's some sort of laminate over carbon, or what the material is.  I will endevour to find out when when I fly it !

EDIT: Yuk, what's up with the first picture.  Looks ok on flickr, is there an issue with embedding portrait photos ?

Freaky ! You can click the pic and toggle it from landscape to portrait...
Cool quad by the way  :)

Yeah flies fine on the recommended cg.

People seem so obsessed with loading planes up with the biggest batteries they can. They fly so much nicer IMHO if left lighter.

Arrived (Yesterday) Furibee Darkmax Quad from Gearbest....£114

First impressions are very nice build quality, although it does have some very obvious flaws.

1) The battery strap provided is utterly useless.
2) Fitting a proper strap means dismantling the Quad to thread it.
3) No spare prop nuts in mine.
4) The Camera is not quite positioned correctly, it's too close to the FC..limiting its elevation range.
5) The Camera is not set up as provided, set in a weird (clipped) version of NTSC, PAL is very useable and far better.
6) The Camera needs to be removed to use the quirky joystick, image is impressive though, WDR is off as provided.
7) The provided D8 FrSky receiver is inappropriate for a model with a potential up to 1km range.

Yes - but you'll need to dismantle the quad anyway to get to the camera (see point 6 !)

Mine either, were you expecting some ?

This bit confused me - how did you mean, I can angle my camera at about 85 degrees if I need to, it seemed to have quite a full range of movement ?

Mine was in regular NTSC - not sure what you mean by clipped.  NTSC has less vertical resolution, so it could possible clip off parts of the OSD that were set for a PAL camera.  Good to see you changed it anyway.

or even 100m of range.  That said I flew the Nebula 230 today which included an XM rx (note, not the XM+) and that also fell out of the sky twice at around 100m

  Re Darkmax..

1. Yes, I was expecting some spare prop nuts, others have been issued with some. I know they are only M6 Nylocs but even so, I managed to have one spin off and lost it...lol.

2. Camera:...My main gripe is not the Up angle range, rather the opposite, try aiming it down... That said, the Camera is too close to the FC because the plug is at the bottom of it and it clashes with the FC if you try aiming it down. The bottom standoff also gets in the way. Frustrating, because if it was moved up slightly, it could be avoided enabling a level Camera if needed, unlikely I know, but a schoolboy design error. In fact in PAL Mode, the vertical view is huge.

3. In NTSC, the vertical view is clipped, it's not just because it has less vertical resolution. They have stretched the horizontal view as well. I suspect it's a way of making a 4:3 Camera appear to have both 4:3 and 16:9, but the 16:9 Mode isn't real. I may be wrong about this, but I dont think I am. Don't get me wrong, I think the image from this camera was more than acceptable, certainly when in PAL anyway.

4. Yes, the receiver, inappropriate. I too have an XM plus for mine.

Still like it though, it's an animal in terms of performance.
