New soldering iron.  My old one is shocking, it takes an age to get up to temp, and then cools down quickly and the tip tends to fall out.  I hear nothing but good things about the TS100 and TS80, so thought I'd try it.  The box is unbelievably light BTW, I thought it was empty at first, this thing is as light as a feather.

I don't know yet, but I'll attempt to find out.  It tells me it will heat from 30c to 300c in 40s on 12v and 20s on 16v (11s on 24v but I don't have a PSU for that) so presumably it can get up to 400c fairly quickly and stay there which will help on the big jobs.  Tests coming

I have the TS100 and I can tell you it has changed the way I solder forever! I do use a 24V power supply (£6) and it heats up in seconds and I can now solder really large 12awg battery connectors I was having so much trouble with before. I also Invested in some decent solder as the stuff from China isn't great.

Another great thing is you can make up a cable and run it off a Lipo in the field. Although I have made up a cable I tend to only use it at home but I'm sure it would work.

Runcam Sparrow....This camera is on sale at Bangood now for £17.50.
  it may be a CMOS Camera, but it represents incredible value and even has its own Mic built in.  The WDR works really well and it will run in 16:9 PAL or NTSC....2:1 Lense.
  So impressed, I ordered another while they are in the Sale.

A nice roll of 1.75 TPU to try and get to grips with and make some vibration mounts for the quad.



And the Armattan higher spec hardware kit for my clone as well as Aremattan original arm spacers to stop the sloppy movement especially on the front arms.

Few bits and bobs in today.  I got pinged by Tattu about testing some lipos, so I thought it might be interesting to try a 1300 one (albeit only 45C) against a 1550 (75C) one.  I have always flown 1300 4s on mini quads, but some of them have massive motors and the voltage sag is amazing sometimes, so I could see if it's all fixed on a 1550

I also got 2 servos in for my Flux build from Banggood

After R9's recent err "issues" I thought I should go back to a working system that I previously had and leave R9 sat on a shelf until they get their act together instead of expecting us to be Beta testers and leaving us with repair bills because their system is completely incompetent right now.

So my Crossfire Lite and 2x Nano receivers ( only one pictured ) turned up. The initial cost is high, but once you have replaced a HD camera and a few airframes from inferior system failures it turns out the cheap system is nothing but false economy so its money well spent ......... Again :)



Also bought a Acehie 1500 4S 75C lipo for the Rooster to try, if I like it I'll shell out for half a dozen more and retire some of my older lipos.
