Yeah maybe bring the cg forward a bit. Mine used to stall really gentle and if it did drop a wing i still had enough control to pull it back.

If you end up in a spin either centre the controls or go with the spin. Trying to pull up makes it worse as all you need is airspeed to recovery and pulling up early makes the stall worse.

Have you made sure it balances left/right? Might help keeping the stall flat.

it is slightly heavier on the right for sure because that's where all the Crossfire stuff is, I did apply power and try to roll out of it. Someone else told me I should have just left it for a second or so and then pull out. I'd like to know how it behaves in such a situation and i'm a bit weary of trying it again. I was at 80 meters when I tried it. I've ordered some larger batteries which will move the CG forward however it's already at 2.2kg and the new batteries will get it close to 2.4kg. The recommended AUW being 2kg makes me a bit nervous.

Don't worry about the extra weight, it will be fine.

Add some ballast to the wing to get it to balance.

The key with spins is to get the airspeed up and not to fight the spin.

Had about two and a half hours air time on mine in the last few days. I couldn't detect any bobbing either while flying or watching video footage. Incidentally my CoG is way back behind recommend. Broke my battery y lead a while ago but wanted to fly, I like it better now with minimal sacrifice on range. I do notice quite a bit of slowing in the bumpy air, but only as I would expect. Hope that's helpful info.

Only the second flight with mine, still have some APM issues to resolve and I think I will swap it out for a Pixhawk. Seams to fly OK but you feel the weight and i'm quite mindful of airspeed (only have ground speed indicator). Quite surprised it didn't fly much longer or further than what I can easily achieve with my Falcon Evo and half the batteries. 2x 4000 4S compared to a single 4000 3S in the Falcon. Admittedly I only have Turnigy 1200KV motor in it so I should install something decent.

Not had a chance to watch your video yet. I was getting about 30mins cruising with 2x 3000mah batteries, enough to do 14km return and have some spare.

I'm just building mine and had two questions please

Do you use uhu glue to glue to spars? Or gorilla glue?

How do you attach the motor mount?

Either glue will do. I've used por in the past.

You attach the mount to the rear ply plate with small bolts and nyloc nuts through the slots in the ply.

With regard to battery I'm using a single 4500mah 4s. Weight of pack is about 410g. I'm typically flying around 16km flight distance and that's typically 3,000mah. Although last flight of just over 15km was only 2,200, including popping up quite high. Personally I prefer mine light with the single battery.

I'd attach a video clip if I knew how. YouTube, sj257257 if anyone wants to look. Just a few clips.

That tallies with the efficiency I was getting. This next build will be using 2x 5200 4s multistars

Cheapie from totem hobbies in Plymouth. Recommend size and was £23 I think. With an apc 9x6. Cheap set up. Probably not the most efficient set up, but cheap and cheerful. If you get chance to check out any of the recent videos you might recognise a few landmarks, like the twin turbines at Cornwall Services.

Interesting, what CG do you have it at ?
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I haven't measured it. Initially it was behind the recommended (185mm?) by about 7mm. So 192mm. I've now taken out one of the battery packs that weighs approx 410g. And moved the one left forward about 10mm. I would estimate that the CoG is now at approx 205-210mm.
