Just tried the heat gun on my foam board , dead easy to peel off the paper , bit hot  :o
Well done Aaron , not seen anyone say to do it this way , anywhere before .
Yes you must tape the whole sheet of depron to do any bending /forming , it will even bend back on itself as in leading edge of a wing , good stuff to model with .

No problem at all Graham, happy to help. Ive been playing with the UK foam board for quite sometime now and played around with different techniques. Another tip if you want to add strength is to coat your exposed foam in a 50/50 mix of pva glue and water after shaping and it will make it a lot more ridged and retain its shape, you can also spray paint foam board using the PVA method before painting, you need to give it quite a few coats of PVA to seal it as the spray paint will react with it if not sealed correctly, sounds like a lot of work but if done rite looks awesome.

LOL, i hate when the ground comes up to fast, had quite a few models that looked exactly the same buddy after the ground got them! I like the colour scheme by the way. :o
