I've really liked the look of these and what they are capable of in a fairly small package. Always been put off by having to order one from China, but to my delight Banggood had them in the UK warehouse for just over £43. Having just had a bit of a heart repair and surviving it(99% blocked left hand side coronary artery that I had no idea about and they told me could of killed me any day!), I thought I deserved a treat(and chips are now a no no lol). I found an online banggood voucher code and bagged one for just under £40  ;D

A quick dry fit of the foam and it all looks good.

I've ordered a sunnysky 2216 1250kv for it, got some mg90s servos and a new runcam pz420h. I'm not really sure as to what lipo to get, I was going for a 6600mAh multistar but the 8000mAh is on offer! Not sure how it will go with the 8000 and haven't ordered one yet. Any suggestions? I want to fly out (eventually) for a good distance with this and have heard that flights of an hour or so are possible.

Good to see another build, it really is a bargain at that price! I saw they were back in the UK, I got mine from China but tempted to order another from the UK as a spare at that price!

My build has stalled, but the wife is out tonight so I plan to get back on it. Bignose13 sent me the stl for a pan mount as well so will get that printing!

In terms of batteries I'm going with 5200 4S multistars. Will carry it with ease and keeps it on the lighter side, I don't plan any massively long range just now with mine! I think the 8000 would be ok. Loads of discussion on the RCGroups thread about it. Some people are running 10,000mah without issue!

What's the best motor for these? Really tempted to get one but I think the missus will kill me if I buy anything else! They look life a reasonable compromise between an efficient but slow plane vs an inefficient acrobatic one.

People have managed some incredible ranges with mini talons.

They appear to fly fast though. Especially when loaded with battery. And can handle a fairly low kv prop for real efficiency. But they aren't the sort of plane which allows you to really throttle back and explore I suspect.

There are a few ppl on fpvlab who manage 25km one way with one. I would just copy that setup myself!

Mine flys great, and will handle a slower speed.

I use MFD autopilot and 4s zippy compact 5800mah batteries with a 2200mah for video.

They fly like a rocket and cover distance very quickly.

I've 2 mini talons and love them.

I run T-Motor 2216-900KV motor and 10x6 props, my cruise is around 4amps and 40mph.
With a 4S5000mah nanotech lipo i can clock up over 30 miles on a single charge.

Heres a post build video showing my setup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCmYDMppU_M

I decided to go for an 8000mAh 4s multistar, mostly because it was on offer at £20    if I take the vector out of my MSH I'm ready to build it.... The longest wait will be for the sunnysky 2216 1250kv, that was ordered from Banggood last night.

So the list for it is:
  Vector AP
  8000mAh 4s Multistar
  40A Turnigy ESC
  x2216 1250kv sunnysky motor
  8x6 apc prop
  ez UHF rx
  800mW 1.3 vtx
skew(bit big but there you go lol)
  runcam pz420h fpv cam
  Mobius or Yi(notdecided yet)
  mg90s servos

Looking forward to this plane  ;D

Does this mean I'll have to build mine now too?

Just ordered the same motor then thought is this for a 3s or 4s setup as I would like to use a 4s setup and use my Z3 batteries which are 5800mAh and 6400mAh, would also like to know what prop this motor/battery requires?  :D
