Mine is setup with one of these:  http://www.componentshop.co.uk/lc2835-8t-1038kv-leopard-outrunner-brushless-motor.html  running on 4s, and an 8x4 prop, which pulls about 18A full throttle.  It cruises at around 50kmh, at only 6A draw or so.  Just the ticket!  The climb out it is perfectly okay, and loops are possible with a bit of planning.  Just the ticket for cruising around, and cutting through a lot of the turbulence that a slower model would get thrown about by....

Andy

That one.  It seems to be working very well.  I started with the intention of going up to a 9x5 prop, but it flies so nice and relaxed with the 8x4, I haven't tried the bigger one yet.  I have noticed that when flying about about 2000m, the current draw at full throttle has dropped to around 14 amps.  Must be the thinner air...

What battery? are you using a Li-Ion? and what's Mi/h G
These were my old Zippy compacts from my Z3, total used was 3200mah. Got some new Multistar 8000mah's that I'm putting a few cycles though before I have another go, Mini Talon is really on song atm  :overexcited:

Nice, that's pretty low down for that sort of distance eh?

Well my rather slow Turnigy Fabrikator took an grindingly slow 11 hours to print this canopy for the Mini talon..... :D

but.......

It's too bloody small.
    :(

I'm not going to reprint it.... I need to know how to shrink the plane by about 10%    :D

MarkLloyd

Excellent Idea BF. I'll give it to my wife, she shrinks all my stuff.

Just wondered if there was a printed cover for the wheel housing as I gave up glueing it back in and stuck two plastic strips underneath, I suppose it goes with the rough landing strips I have to use. ;D

Just out of interest I put the Mini Talon on the scales with the Multistar 8000mah (it also hast 2axis P&T) and it came in at 1776grams, this thing still floats on and on, think it could still have a few more grams and still have the same manners  :+

If it is just a little bit too small you could try to 'massage it' with a hot air gun or hair dryer and open it up a bit to fit.....
