Be interesting to see how if in any way it changes it.

Don't think any of us have enough for this hobby!! My other problem is having enough room to store all the planes and sneaking new ones past the missus  :D

this will end my marriage one day, I swear!
I keep trying to get my flying buddies to order them for me. However this in turn leads to some dodgy exchanges in laybys :)

Ever tried getting the vender to write " Prize winner" on the out side of the box, this worked twice for me but has a limited use. Does not wash with " she who shall be obeyed" anymore lol.

As long as my wife don't sell all my gear if I die for how much I 'bought' it for! But I guess you lot would mind!

I've put a fair few hours on my mini talon over the last week or so.  I'm still on 2.4 radio and 5.8 video, but I'm getting a nice sollid 2.5-3km range (with a 5.8Ghz patch) which is nice.  The airframe is great.  tweaking the CG back a little has allowed me to reduce the cruise throttle slightly, resulting in it using around 5.5-6 amps to maintain level flight.

This weeks job is to swap out the 2.4rx for a UHF one, and then I can start pushing out a bit further.

Oh, and I'm impressed with how the little GoPro Session is performing.

The only issue I have had, is that in order to fit a larger pack (I'm currently on a 4s 5Ah beast, but I'd like to see if I can double up to get 10Ah in there), I'm going to need to add a bit of weight to the tail.  Oh, and I keep getting moisture from the clouds on the gopro lens....

Here's a couple of screen grabs from a flight on Saturday.

Duct Tape and a Hammer.  A cure for all known mechanical problems.

What was the issue? I've had more than a little trouble getting mine flying right and it's looking decidedly second hand but finally getting there. This was my first decent flight without any issues: youtu.be/wUzs12TGkW4

Me :+

I had an experienced friend test fly it and get it trimmed up for me. It was flying great for him.
It all went horribly wrong when the transmitter was in my hands :(

Yesterday really wasn't my day though, my 550 quad tried to go forth after its firmware flash then refused to come back to earth as well.

Ah doh! If you haven't flown planes before I would recommend getting something like an axn or bixler first and learn to fly them los. They can both be converted for fpv too. A better plan to start with and build your confidence up on, then progress to the Talon

Hey Dave, the Mini Talon when setup is a very stable airframe but that said it's got a flat wing, so is unstable and easier to side slip, not the qualities you want for a trainer or novice level. Have a good play on a sim and revisit, sure you will master it really quickly after some sim time, good luck :)
