Gundummy

Now if you have a spare one.... I have all the electronics waiting to be fitted to a frame like that  ;) ;)
FPV - The unusual hobby of flying £££'s miles away from you in the hope you see it again.

It may not work yet Gundummy.

Bit more done, here are some of the parts, I'm printing parts then changing them if necessary.

I'm glueing the carbon tubes in, so I've keyed the ends.

This is one of the front arms complete.

And this is the wires going through with the cap removed

I'm running the rear motor wires through the frame and hot glued the wires in to keep them out of the way of the battery, when it's slid in.

The wires then come out in front of the battery compartment.

I'm happy with the footprint, when the arms are folded away.

BlueFlyer

looking really good there G. Very pro looking, which is awesome considering it's a fully DIY quad.

beesleyboy

Thanks bud, I'm spending far to much time on it, it gets put together, then striped again when I think of something else that needs changing, doing it all in Cad, is one thing,  but holding it in you're hands and looking for problems is the only way.

More outstanding work G - love the colour scheme too.
It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense...

Moister than an Oyster...........

Thanks guy's.

right then, I took it up today only at a hover,  it went up really well and was nice and smooth as it came off the ground, but once it was hovering, it starts to vibrat, it still just sits in the air and easy to control, just oscillats, at first I thought it was a buckled prop or something, so I took all the props of and placed one at a time on ech motor and there all good, there is no play or movement on the quad, any ideas.
I will put up a video,  but not sure how clear it shows the problem.
Thanks G

To me that looks like a slop issue with the frames leg
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Speed related resonance.....because at a slightly higher prop rpm it stops...right?

I could also be the motor that's out of balance...check the magnets are all present..?  Or run the motors up individually without their props on.

Then, try fitting one prop at a time and hold the motor while you run the prop up...feeling for vibration......?

I think you hit the nail on the head there. That's exactly what it looks like.

There's no slop, and the frame is stiff as, I ran the motors without props and then with one prop at a time and there smooth as you like,  I didn't have much time today,  because it started raining,  I changed the gains and it seemed to be a bit smoother.
The props on this are 14" long, of my Inspire quad, on all the previous builds with the Naza were with 9" props,
Unfortunately I'm of to London working for a few weeks tomorrow,  so I won't get chance to look at it again until then.
I'm sure I will be able to share the files at some stage Martin, but I will need to do some work on the motor mounts,  so one could fit, standard motors, the inspire ones that are on it now have little spades on the bottom.
