EzUHF questions

I have just recently received my EzUHF (459MHz) system from Simon but have a few questions adn wonder if someone that has the system can help?

Using the RCImmersionTools application, I am able to make connection with the diversity receiver and wish to set channel 8 as my RSSI output, but am worried what effect the frequency band setting will have, as 459MHz is not in the list only the following:

431-433MHz
433-435MHz
435-537MHz
436-438MHz

Also, regarding the Tx, is 100mW its output on the Hi setting and a lower output on Lo?

Any thoughts?

I think I have found my answer in the depths of the Immersion RC website. Answer is to basically ignore those frequency settings.

Yes - ignore those settings (assuming you have put the 459MHz firmware on - all EzUHFs ship with 433MHz and you have to change it yourself).

High power is 100mW, low power is a little less - somewhere around 81mW from memory.  Its best to fly on low power and then you can increase it in an emergency.

OK - cool.  Here's the second bullet point from our website with the link to the firmware:

  433MHz operation with standard firmware - UK customers can download the special UK firmware here: http://www.immersionrc.com/EzUHF.htm which changes the EzUHF to work on 459MHz at 100mW (459MHz is a licence free band reserved for model control)

The software will still list:

431-433MHz
433-435MHz
435-537MHz
436-438MHz

Yes it can 6lennn, just use the immersiontools software :)

cool beans, would be nice to have the option for that higher power if I get the chance to go somewhere its legal

Yes flash them back and forth between 433MHz and 459MHz as many times as you like!  Just swap the antennas at the same time for best performance.

Simon, I am looking at the two ezUHF systems you have and I have no idea what I need.

My TX is a Futaba 35MHz C7 and I will not be flying in the UK with it, so I want the maximum range it can give me and the necessary antennas.

How does the RMILEC compare to the ezUHF? If I see this correctly, thats a Foxtech UHF system, rigfht?

1 - 2 watt power settings ! No idea I've not heard of anyone using it. The only one other UHF that I have seen that is as trouble free as EZUHF is Thomas's TLRS. Dragonlink has sorted its issues out as well and Chainlink. But all of them including RCMILEC won't be UK legal.
