well you can but you might want that engine running... and depends on the battery being charged!

Hey Dave_B. What's the hold up with your twin? Reason I'm asking is I've recently bought one and busy with it now, seems like an easy enough build etc... Though I've made almost zip progress in the week since I got it and had hassles with a dodgy batch of HS81's. I was hoping to fly it this coming weekend, but probably better not to rush it. Are you doing a counter rotating set up?

I'll be in the Market for brekkie after my first flight at 06:00 (if the weather plays ball!)

Anyhow, seems everyone here is pretty stoked for the weekend. I'll see if I can organise power at my camp site 200 yards or so away for charging :) Will report back here.

Even tho im a short ass I can eat my own weight in one sitting so im up for some grub!!, Just a thought but if we all meet at the campsite, just kinda roll up casual to FB's camping corner and take it from there, I could bring one of those single ring gas hob things in a case with frying pan and loads of bacon and stuff!! just a thought.

Im on Immersion 5.8 on both my quads im bringing, and on 2.4 frsky control, not sure if im bringing the the sw yet but that on 1.2 thats piped into 5.8 and sent to the goggs from the mfd tracker.... will prolly bring it anyway and see how it goes.

I will bring 4 x chargers to run out of my van for anyone needing a top up, 2 of the chargers can do 20amp charging so if you have nanao techs I can ram them at 5c charge for rapid redeployment!.

I will aim to be with FB at 8am :)

Flyboysee. What campsite are you at and have you booked a specific pitch? Some of the Forest campsites now charge for people coming in for the day in their cars. Bit of a cheek I think so might be worth parking outside and walking in.

Don't worry Dave, I've bought lights, ordering my 3rd set of servo's, have done my tail (put servo's far back with m2 rods), obsessed about the wings, had to modify motor mounts and have counter rotating props. £D Jim reckons they should rotate outwards, but that it doesn't matter much. So, as I said, you're in good company. I think the plane is worth it and quite rare around here. I'm also doing pan and tilt - def want to see those motors spinning in flight :)

Please bring yours along, ready or not. Mine may just be ready for some LOS t3sting - maybe maiden non the day.

Krikey I'll be staying at Ocknell, right next door. Yeah they charge £3 for a car??? Who cares, Friday is payday :)

Yeah I will try 8am too.  I will only have my trusty mini short range FPV'd quad and maybe dji naza quad if I get the bits and have time to set it up.

5.8MHz video and 2.4Ghz transmitter for me.

Going to aim for as near 8 as possible, but about 90 minute drive and not sure I can be bothered to get up at 6 to get there  :D Looking forward to meeting you all.

horay my DJI NAza turned up after I returned it as the USB wouldnt connect.  Anyway finally airborne but need to build up my cam gimbal now.   I think I may only be LOS for my naza platform.  but got another mini hack about quad I have fpv ready.  See you tomorrow.

ps I need to take out shares in Cable ties and double sided foam tape at the rate I get through the stuff!!!!

not hard to track jay dow!, look at his vid where he tests cam in car, he drives right back to his house, just off the A3 on the 'heath road' that goes to the pond, not sure if that's what its called but that's what I call it!

And bacon mmmm now ur talking my language!  :D
