Hey there, thanks a lot for the swift reply. Actually been a member of the forum for ages, just never posted lol.

Currently using a clover on plane with a clover on goggles and a 3 turn ibcrazy helical, was just looking to add some more range, currently getting around 3k.

The clover on the plane is not a good one though, so maybe switching that to one of yours and maybe a 5 turn helical from you as well. Ideally I am looking to get 7k (I have a mission I am trying to do).

Might have to bite the bullet and get a tracker though.

Hi Mate and welcome to the forum
A ten turn helical is about 32 degree beam width but tbh I wouldn't go down that route with skyzones
I would just stick with a normal Skew and a five turn helical, this will give you plenty of distance and more room to fly in (beam wise)
The longer helical's are more suited to trackers really,
If you watch Wayne's video of my 3 turn you'll understand more of what I'm saying, he actually picks up someone's video when they are 6K out and Wayne was using a 3 turn
Cheers

A skew with a five turn helical will get you 7k I would have thought easily with a 600mw vtx, you will need to move your helical slightly to keep the signal from the vtx in the helicals beam, no need really for a tracker, I tried using a 12 turn without a tracker and managed to get 5 k on a 200mw vtx before it came nearly impossible to hit the plane with the beam, with a tracker though it would have been a walk in the park

Great, so I would need a 5 turn helical and one of your antenna for the plane itself, I am using a Boscam ts832 vtx, and skyzone goggles, whats the damage on that? :)

Hi Guys,

I had my Phantom 2 out today, with the 5 turn helical on the BP Diversity for the first time. All I can say is WOW! The only time it used the skew planar was when the P2 was directly overhead, and the display was rock solid with good range even when flying towards me and VTx antenna was at the rear. It was 95% humidity today which can also cause issues, but it's the best reception I've ever had. Thanks Simon!

Always good to get positive feedback
Glad they worked well for you

In another note, I'm not sure if I mentioned it but I have an swr meter now for 1.2,2.4 & 5.8, all antennas will be swr'd and anything over 1:1.3 won't be sent out ensuring you have near perfect antennas
Just another service to all my loyal and great customers
Cheers guys
