Hi Guys.

Been following this thread with interest for a while and pleased to say I ordered a Venturi Evo today !

It will be a welcome replacement for the now dead Z2 which I really liked. I go away for a couple of weeks shortly, so probably won't get chance to get stuck into it until I return but will post my progress. :D

Wind suddenly dropped last night and it was perfect for the Venturi. I wanted to put more of the flight up as it was so smooth flying above the fields. Thought better off it though as to anyone else it would probably just be a dull video of flying over field after field ::)https://youtu.be/ZhTrvTPa7WE

Staying up high and just cruising off somewhere isn't what this wing is about surely ::) I would have gone lower through the trees but having already crashed my mini into one earlier I didn't fancy having to do the walk of shame a second time.

My friend has an 8 turn helical I'm going to try to see if I can go further lower. If not I'm going to have to go 1.3

Yeah twice in one day isn't good.
The best thing for long low range is for you to get up high. You'll still need some sort of line of sight to maintain signal.

I'm still tempted to build a skywalker as a aerial relay station...

Haha so launch it and put it in loiter with a vrx receiving your remote signal then retransmit it down to you on the ground. Sounds like an interesting project ::)

You would struggle with it banking ask the time though and your antenna not being in the right orientation?

Yeah basically. I think you could mount the aerial at an angle to account for the bank while in loiter.
I dunno, just an idea I've had in my head for a while!

Made some more progress today...took a long time though! Its all laminated now, and the camera slot is also cut. Next up is motor fitting and electronics...

It's quite fun actually, although it can be a pain at times. It's not as hard as you may think!
