Made some progress on mine today, got the electronics all connected and tested with the cables I crimped up the other night, then laminated the wings. Started laying out the electronics and dry fit it all, but will need to route some cabling underneath I think to tidy things up properly!

Also a sneak peak of the design scheme I'm going with! :D

While I've got the bottom foam off is it worth mounting the motor mount under the plywood deck, as going by the talk in Ben's thread it can benefit getting the thrust line down?

I would, Brucey did and there's no complaints from him.

Brucey

Well, by putting it underneath you can't adjust the mount too help with the cg. But that hasn't been a problem for me.
I still think I might need to bend the mount back a bit as it seems to climb under power. Its to early to tell has I still need to get it fully trimmed out.
Think it looks nicer with the mount hidden underneath

BlueFlyer

how is it "designed" to be mounted? on top or underneath?

surely testing was done.

Brucey

On top... testing was done by me and iPeel.... mainly iPeel

BlueFlyer

does it come with laminate, or do I have to add that in the cart too? got my finger hovering over the buy now button ;)

Brucey

I think you have to add it. Others who bought it online can confirm I'm sure.
Buy it!

Jake Bullit

I added it to my order. Hope to receive it next week.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Well, pretty much anyway! Still need to decide where to put the GPS receiver as I completely forgot about it to be honest, and then need to sort out rates and expos and all that fun stuff. Wiring isn't as tidy as I'd like, but everything is working fine!

Overall really pleased with how it looks, CoG seems to be in the right ball park and it seems solid! Looking forward to getting it in the air now! If only the weather would play ball....

Bottom turned out well, although annoyingly you can see the dark patches where the servos and vtx etc are. Still, should look nice doing overhead passes! :D

Thundercats... Thundercats... Thundercats... Go!

Looks great!

We definitely need a meet up, was going to maiden mine today, but I got far to drunk last ! Arggghh never drinking again. Think I've got mine pretty much ready to go. I keep getting "graphics error code 0D00000 email support" on my eagle tree pro osd. It doesn't seem to effect control of the plane so was just gonna go for it, but it does make me worry if there is a fault somewhere. But let's deffo arrange a meet up for a load of Venturi's, theres a place we can fly which is near the meet up at Falmer on the 14th of March.

Yo,

The elevons should follow the sweep up of the bottom of the wing at the trailing edge as if they were part of the wing, you can use a ruler.

Hope that makes sense
