Those little foxes look so cool :D

I have enjoyed making this model so much, I think its Time for the mark 2, its the Mint Fox, I have 2 of these so I'm going to mack a long wing extension model, I'm also thinking of linking the right aileron with the right elevator and vise versa, and mix the channels, this will allow me to break it dowen to fit it into a small carry case.
I'm also going for a longer rang RC setup, with some 350mah batteries instead of the 180mah that I'm using, ther only 3g heavier.

That looks awesome! Cant wait to see how it turns out, are you using a bigger motor or sticking with the same one.

Gordon,

From my experience with linked ailerons-elevators on a few models, it is a bad idea 99% of the time.

I'd just stick with rudder/elevator for a plane like this. I had a Fox converted to RC a while ago, with just rudder/elevator and it was a glider which I would strap to the belly of my Uno-Wot and release up high then get someone else to pilot it down.

Great fun!

I have bought the same motor an AP05 and ESC, power to weight it is impressive, I'm not looking for vertical clime, any moor power and it will shorten the flight duration.

Thanks Sheldon
I fined that I get beter response and it suits my way of flying beter when I use aileron and elevator, plus I'm toying with the idea of fitting a micro gyro to the ailerons to see if it will stabilize it a bit, I recon its worth a go if it doesn't add to much weight.

Pasty

I had ailerons on my RC fox (glider only), they worked a treat.

g.collins

Ha pasty
yes I'm well pleased with the response of the mark 1, so if it ant broke, this one is only going to have longer wings, so it can take the small GPS I have ordered and a 350mah battery, longer rang on this one
Did you have the baby Multiplex Fox like mine, or something bigger.
regards G

Pasty

The baby fox with slimline micro servos in the wings and an all moving stabiliser... it went really well but I needed the servos for a new project so she has been moth balled (slung under the workbench never to be seen again prolly) :)

Pasty

Slight ambush here, paul wanted to know how i did the all moving stab on my fox and I thought it might be good to share generally.

for the axle thing I used some 6mm (I thknk) carbon tube with a 4mm carbon tube running through it into each stab.

Hope that helps someone

Thanks Steve,

That, my friend, is a very tidy bit of work...... I'm going to copy it now, thanks

Hi Guys, I have disided to finish the Long winged Mint Fox, I have made a few changes to this one, apart from the longer wings, I have fitted a longer rang RC risever, its still a park reserve but I should get a grater rang, I have also fitted a tiny Gyro, to the ailerons, to see if it will keep it stable in the wined, I took it out tonight and test flow it, unfortunately it looked like it was going to rain, so I didn't tack the video camera.
verdict, brilliant, its so much smother than the first one, and flies at a slower speed at lower Reeves, I set the timer at 10 mins, and still Had power left, I will get the video kit on this weekend, I have made a clover antenna for the video transmitter, I have boult a Skew Planar Wheel Antenna from Simon @ www.firstpersonview.co.uk, unfortunately my 5.8 receiver has a mail connector, and so has the antenna, I'm hoping that I can get an adapter.
stay tuned for the first FPV flight, I cant wait.
regards G
