Thanks coyote for the response..Your set up is perfect for me as i will not in the near future use the nav mode..
unfortunately i have a stock 9x and not the er9x  :-(

anyway be kind to post ur mixes please.

Coyote

My ER9X mix is :

ID0 = + 125% HALF
ID1 = 125% FULL
ID2 = +- 125% HALF

I use the Gear switch for stabilization = 100% FULL GEAR
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I was just going to ask the same question for a Futaba t7cp transmitter!

For a Futaba 7 transmitter using a Flap mix would be required. You would need to enable flaps, have the FY31AP flight mode input going to the flap output of the Futaba Rx ( channel 6 )

Then go into P-Mix menu, and edit the mix to give 100% on switch up ( air break function, then 100% on switch down, flaps )

any idea regarding the 9x stock firmware i want to use the same functions on stock firmware...

even if i get just off-stabilize on one switch
and  rc-rtl on another switch

is this acheivable? i really am stuck with my skywalker, a turnigy 9x tx and the fy31ap

Please advise man

Coyote

I flashed mine straight away  so I`m not familiar with the stock firmware sorry

Hello Again Coyote,

Managed to flash my 9x to er9x ;D

now regarding the mixes for the fy31ap 3 position switch......

1.i dont seem to be having a value of HALF

2.I assume i should do this in the mixer menu?

so this is how it goes
CH1  100% AIL
CH2  100% ELE
CH3  100% THR
CH4  100% RUD
CH5  100% FULL GEAR

NOW CHANNEL 6 IS WHERE I GET CONFUSED

I USE CHANNEL 7 FOR THE HORNET OSD DISPLAY SWITCH OVER

kINDLY ADVISE WHETHER THE MIXES YOU EARLIER STATED ARE ONLY ON CHANNEL 6 OR SEVERAL CHANNELS HAVE TO BE CREATED TO SERVE THE PURPOSE OF THE THREE MIXES FOR THE THREE WAY SWITCH..

Sorry for the silly question i just dont get it..
appreciate your advise

Coyote

Hiya

1) If you go to the channel you want to use in the mixer page, then press menu you will go into the mix page. Where it says SOURCE USE + / - to change it to HALF

2. I have it set as :

CH1 100% AIL
CH2 100% ELE
CH3 100% THR
CH4 100% RUD
CH5 125% AIL ( This means the aileron switch next to the 3 position switch will switch stabilization on and off )
CH6 125% FULL ID1
  +- 125% HALF ID2
  +- 125% HALF ID0
This is for flight modes on 3 position switch giving full up is RC, middle is CIRCLE, bottom is RTH

Then you could have CH7 100% FULL GEAR for OSD display switch over.

it should work now that the modes switch...

funnily i do not have the HALF value instead MAX and FULL...

thanks alot for the advise and insight appreciated

ok here goes the next stumbling block...

I use 2.4ghz flysky 9ch tx and rx...now what happens if i fly beyound range?

how can i set the fy31ap to automatically RTL on loss of tx signal?

with er9x failsafe function is no longer available to keep throttle on 55% as RTL kicks in(not even sure whether it kicks in automatically or has to be configured to do so)

what a mess i am enh?

Teamftp

FY31AP does have some control over the throttle for RTL.

Mine works just fine in failsafe.... total loss of signal from RX to FY31AP. Just failsafe set to engage switch that turns RTL function on. HOWEVER also make sure your failsafe does not cut throttle to 0...

This is from the manual:

a. The FY-31AP has  some control over the throttle channel. Therefore, when flying in
Autopilot Modes, please ensure you have enough forward movement to prevent stalling.
b. FY-31AP may have a control over the throttle channel, but the throttle control signal is
base on the stick control signal and will auto adjust according the altitude and speed then
output the combined signal. If your forward movement cannot compensate for the
autopilot's active altitude hold, your aircraft will stall.
c. This is especially important if RTL is part of your RC failsafe. In the event of RC Link lost,
you can set RTL into your Receiver failsafe. However, please DO NOT forget to also set your
throttle failsafe to between 25 % to 50% to ensure the plane does not stall.

d. Never set your throttle failsafe to zero. If you do so, your aircraft will RTL in a continuous
stalled flight which will result in a crash.

Hope that helps.

Simon.

Thanks teamftp..

yes does help..however what happens if i had my throttle directly connected to my rx and not the fy31ap?

from what i understand this failsafe is purely a tx and rx function nothing to do with the fy31ap..

apart from the fact that i would have to incoporate the rtl switch position and throttle on my tx failsafe...
now how to get it done on the flysky 9ch with er9x is the issue..

appreciated ;)

Teamftp

Nope put EVERYTHING through the FY31AP and it will sort itself out. It is a cracking bit of kit once all set up.

As for the Flysky....

Did a quick Google.

Is this any good???

Coyote

If you have your throttle directly from your rx you will need a failsafe setting that activates RTH and has a throttle set to above cruise speed.
