I don't want to have to turn around on Saturday afternoon and say "i cant come" and let everyone down at the last minute.

Unfortunately that's how I'm going to have to play it, if Sunday looks wet/too windy then no flying  :(

I bet you are all wondering how Saturday went at Bardney......
It was a little windy but not as bad as last year. One or two showers and rather chilly but that didn't stop a Skywalker flying along with a wing flown FPV and chasing a Sebart model being flown by the club Chairman.
Free burgers helped with the socialising and all those that braved the weather enjoyed the day.
Well before the day was over not only the club Chairman, but other members were already extending a further invite for September with hopefully better weather.
I will check my next leave schedule and put up a definate date in a couple of weeks.
As for tomorrow,  I will make the decision when I get up whether to go flying depending on the weather of course, but i'm not going to hold my breath. It rather looks like a building day is forecast to be fair.
I'd just like to thank those that attended and look forward to the footage over the next day or two.
A big thank you to Bardney Flyers for the warm welcome as usual and the enthusiasm shown to us FPVer's.

Despite the bad weather it was a good day out thanks to Chris and the other members of the Bardney Flyers Club. Sadly, due to the weather, there were only three FPV guests but we managed a few flights in 20-30mph wind between the showers. However, a great club site, superb facilities and a very friendly welcome. The tea, coffee and cheeseburgers were much appreciated, thanks. I will post some video once I have edited it.

The club has invited us back later this year, Chris will advise the date and we just need to fix the weather.

Despite the early rain and biting wind, I really had a great day at the Bardney Flyers Model Club. Chris and the members laid on a warm welcome and great hospitality and it was a shame more FPVers didn't make it. It was good to meet electricmick (Mick) and I hope we can arrange some flying together very soon given we live very close.  It would be great if we could arrange another meeting in September when hopefully we can have better weather and a few more FPVers, that said, even with the wind today, it was good to get in the air and have three FPV flights with my modified Swift II.  Come September, I should have my Zethyr II all ready!

Here are some pictures from the day and I'll post a video very shortly to show how windy it was.

Once again a big thanks to Chris for organising and the hospitality of the Bradney Flyers.

Great pictures, that ground station looks fantastic.

I really want to fly at Bardney since it's so close to me in terms of a meet but I won't/can't fly in big winds yet.

Some video from my GoPro. At about 1.30 the wind was strong enough that although the plane was facing North the OSD data said we we travelling South - busy going nowhere as the lyric says.

Looks like you had great fun, we deffo need one in the summer, it was too much of a gamble to come off a night shift and travel all that way with todays dismal weather forecast, but I will make Bardney this year

Excellent footage. I can't help wondering how many Lancaster crews have seen a similar view at about 3:30, straight along the main runway, Some with engines out or maybe shot up......
Anyway how does the 15th/16th of September grab anyone for the next attempt?

BFMC are having a "glider" weekend but have asked FPVUK to come along again.
There will be a glider tug available for those that want to FPV an aerotow launch.
