Bardney Flyers Model Club 2nd FPV Meet

I noticed a couple of you were talking about it on the shoutbox last night.
The Bardney Meet is still on for the 15th / 16th September if anyone is interested.
Those that have been before will vouch for the fact that they are a very welcoming and friendly club.
The last 2 meets were dogged by highwinds but those that came enjoyed it I believe.

There is plenty of good accomodation around the area and a couple of good pubs.
For the more adventurous you might like to sleep in the "haunted" control tower.

So who's coming along? Don't give me the distance excuse as I doubt anyone will be travelling further than me from Afghanistan.
(ok I am not just travelling home for the meet)

If the weather is good on the day I'll be there Chris, can never tell until the sun shines though so don't want to confirm yay or nay ... it's only a short distance from me though so no excuses if it's a nice day, as long as other people are going heh.

I thought I would put up location details as I find that always helps if you are going somewhere.
For those of you with SatNav it will be fairly easy. Just punch in LN3 5TP The site is located next door to a large chemical company called OMEX and they have a tower with their name on it so you shouldn't miss it.

The location is an old WWII airfield in Bardney, Lincolnshire.
It is a very picturesque area and steeped in history. From the air you are able to see the whole of the old airfield layout from where Lancaster bombers were flown.
Close by you have, RAF Coningsby, Woodhall Spa and Lincoln with its own cathedral and castle.
Having experienced firsthand the accommodation around there I can guarantee a warm and friendly stay if required.
I personally live almost an hour away from there but prefer to fly there to any other club closer to me.
A little more detail on the site:
There is 240 volt electricity for charging etc.
A fully fitted kitchen.
A work area for fixing those slight mishaps.
Hot and cold running water.
Tea, Coffee and soft drinks and more than likely burgers etc throughout the day.
There are a few very nice public houses within a mile of the site for those that fancy a larger lunch.

Hi all, got room for a little one? Ive never flown with any other fpv'ers let-alone met any!!!

What are the rules on kit & staying over night, can we camp on-site? Am a fully paid up member of the bmfa, got my card but forget where the insurance paper is.

I gotta say I'm really looking forward to this, I've already talked a mate of mine into coming as well. Should be a great chance to meet like minded flyers & soak up what everyone's doing with their kit, plus it'll be a chance just to take to the air somewhere new!

I really hope I don't get booked for work that weekend & more importantly I don't need to stop in at a model shop on the way to buy a boat to FPV instead!! I may just close the diary for that weekend too!

The 15th September is firmly marked on my calendar and Steve and I will be there again to enjoy the warm welcome from the Bardney Flyers Model Club.

Having attended this event earlier in the year, I can certainly recommend it an it would be great to see a few other FPVers turn out too.

Looking forward to it and keeping my fingers crossed for some nice weather and a little less wind this time!

Well it seems we have a lot of interest in the meet this time. Best I warn the Bardney Chairman to get more burgers in.
Will be good to have a few more there this time.
