Been dialing mine in over the last few days of sun & calm weather. Found I needed loads more control surface throw than the instructions suggested. Still lethargic in roll.

Great fun FPV though😃😃

Downside being my goggles clearly need updating. Is there anywhere in the north east where you can have a demo of the goggles out there??

Yeah, you need more movement than you think on the elevons, I've made my high rates my standard rates now. Worth playing a little with the CG too, I have my CG about 10mm back from the official point.

A quick update on mine, Rob and I have been flying these little wings a lot, I'm loving mine!

What I decided to do is to replace the chapo' Banggood camera I had on mine with a proper PZ0420m, seeming as I'm flying this wing more than any of my other planes at the moment I thought it was a worthwhile investment!

The Runcam PZ0420m fits in the front section a treat and gives a much better image than my last camera, no surprises.

What I also did was to give myself some peace of mind on the TX side of things too. This isn't a long distance wing but I do go fast and low, sometimes behind stuff. It's only running 5.8Ghz but I wanted to make sure I wasn't running out of control range. This gave me an opportunity to try out a neat feature of OpenLRS which is the ability to send an audible beep out of the RSSI port instead of an RSSI voltage level.

Setting this up is quite easy, I connected to the receiver through the transmitter interface and set my RSSI port (port 3) to "Packet loss - Beeper":

Then I connected the signal of port 3 to the audio input of the VTX:

I tested by powering everything up, then switching the VTX off and I got a beep through the headphones plugged into my Fatsharks, it's a pretty neat feature when you want peace of mind on RSSI without wanting an OSD.

I can't wait to set a meet up with a load more of these and get some real carnage on the go.

Sounds a right laugh!!

Is everyone using the supplied 5x3 prop?

I found it was a bit weak so tried a 5x4.5 bullnose which flew great but hammered the battery. Now I am on a 5x4 dal, 10min airtime with enough oumph for charging about. :D

I'm using the 5x3 prop and the same motor as the wing deal, but on 4s.

Roadrunner

I also found the elevons needed more movement and the c o g needed to be further back also the recomended 30% expo means iam using alot of stick, power wise iam on the stock kit motor and prop and it goes vertical, but at half throttle i can get 20 mins on a 3s 1000 mah, love mine but need a calm day to fpv it

luvbus

Think I'll try moving the CoG back to liven it up a bit.

I'm on the package motor & esc too. May have to give the stock prop another go as 20min sounds great although I'm on the 850mah pack.

Mine won't go vertical for long on the stock prop. Not an issue with the other two I've tried.

Lots of fun though :)

I finally managed to maiden mine yesterday.  I do love a maiden that gives absolutely no trauma at all.  Flies lovely.  Definitely worth a better flight cam as iPeel mentions, and my COG was happy 10mm back as well.

Obviously I made a video

Built mine during the week and maidened it yesterday. Flew nice. I found as others - 30% expo is ok but the servo's need more movement. I'm going to make some new holes in the servo things on the wings lower down for more movement, needs around 50-100% more I think.

Flew ok, a little twitchy even in 5-10mph wind, hoping with some adjustments it'll fly great. Balanced around 5mm further back than the recommended CoG, but with advice from here I've left that as is.

Nice one Matt, looks great.

What's those extra lines running to the centre? Are those extra spars to strengthen it for the next rebound meet? :-)

add1ct3dd

Antennas :) not quite 90 deg to each other, but should be fine!

A more "funky" picture.

Having said I'm happy with the wing, my friends box came with no template either. I emailed nearly 2 weeks ago now and no response.

Probably wouldn't order again on that basis. It's the little things. </rant>

foamster

Sorry about the template, did not see that email, I get a lot of mail !

I will put in on the website in case it happens again
