  Waste of time waiting in though. I'm a bit suspicious about what's going on with my hobbyking order I was waiting for... I never received a dispatched email, it does say dispatched in my account but I payed for 24hr delivery and that was Friday..... No tracking info either, so I'm starting to wonder if it got dispatched at all.It is from the UK warehouse, never had a problem before..

Went on 'live chat' with Hobbyking to find out about my order. I had paid for 24hr shipping from the UK warehouse on Friday and still nothing today >:(

Who the hell are GC distribution?? why would they telephone me and why haven't they?? And what does 'regarding with my parcel' mean :laugh:......  It's only 1 8000mAh 4s and a 2s 1300mAh!!  Not to mention 'waiting for their instructions', maybe I will have to meet them in a cafe/under a bridge/in a public square/park bench and wear a pink carnation in my lapel and speak a code word to get my lipos????

My LiPos were sent via Palletline. They delivered it to a completely address (A University Academic mailroom, as opposed to my flat, 1 1/2 miles away) as they said they "Couldn't get down the driveway...." Took 4 business days :/

that's very disconcerting that the servo shape holes go all the way through lol...

I think I'll smear a tiny amount of PU glue in the hole, slide the servo in and tape over it to reduce the foaming out of the glue.

now that mine's arrived I'm pretty much at the same point as your last pictures.

I just dabbed some CA in the slots and slid the servos in... they're such a snug fit anyway I can't see them coming out without physically pushing them out by hand.

I've built the ply canopy but will not be using it. I want something a bit more bespoke so I can get my RunCam2 HD on the nose with a FPV cam on top. I may design something and put a request up on the 3D printing forums again.

 I was going to design something for mine, then I discovered the YI cam is a very snug fit on the provided ply platform, I have a fatshark 600tvl which should fit under the YI(infront of the platform piece), providing it can't be seen in the YI footage it makes for an easy life lol.  I was going to design and print a simple pan mechanism but don't like the idea of trusting everything to a tiny servo screw  :laugh:

Now I'm just waiting on bits, motors coming from Banggood and the esc, lipo etc from Hobbyking(if it ever comes, I'm starting to doubt it will).

Looks like we are in the same boat, got a project box that's half full, really don't like starting until I've all the bits.
I was in two minds to give it a slash of paint as I have had problems in the past formation flying with a pair a of white planes, what paint are people using on this airframe???

I normally just use the wilkos own brand craft spray paint, but I give the surface of the EPO a light sanding with fine paper beforehand. Gets rid of the mould release agent residue and leaves a nice surface for the paint to adhere to.

I do very light coats, leaving 10 mins between coats.

Sometimes I get impatient and try and get the end result in one spray sitting... never a good idea as the paint tents to drip :(

I've got mine all over the dining room, the Mrs hasn't complained yet, which is strange lol(recent bad health issues have left me 'unnaggable'  :laugh:....short term anyway...)

I use my airbrush with water based colours but I'm not doing the mini talon as it's really shiny already. coloured tape would probably be the way to go if you want to put some distinguishing features on.

I used cheapo spray paint from b&m bargains, hit with the heat gun it dries quickly and seems to stick well. Then did a light coat with a clear lacquer, time will tell how it holds up but the heat gun seemed to seal it nicely.

I only laminate EPP foam wings, just because they're really easy lol

moulded wings like you get on planes like this, I find too tricky to laminate without it looking all crap and creased around the curved areas.

Also, you don't need to laminate it but of course that's personal preference... by all means add more weight lol

I like the strength and durability it adds. It also helps prevent hanger rash.

I agree that lamination does indeed add those features. I just think personally that the mini talon does not need strengthening, and the durability/hangar rash repellent properties do not outweigh the aesthetics requirements for me.

I'm sure you're brilliant at laminating awkward shaped planes and wings such as this, and would do a much better job than I at not making it look like a dogs dinner. Can't wait to see it :)
