I started heli flying on Phoenix rc after while it were printing lol.
Helifest is almost here haha.

Came out perfect.
Ironically, it's the longest print I've tried (Previous 2hrs) and the best print I've had yet lol.

P.s added the images to thingiverse (I made one) do dah thingy.

  Turned out well  :)   slurry is good stuff to keep your prints on the bed.

 MY BITS HAVE TURNED UP!!!!!!!   Finally after over 2 weeks Hobbyking have managed to deliver!!!! I had stuff from banggood in China beat the delivery from Suffolk to Norfolk!  :laugh: :laugh:

Happy now, just wish Hobbyking would actually issue my refund of 40 something quid so I can order a NTM 2836. After seeing the power of Marks  with a 10x5 on that motor yesterday, I don't think I want to use the 2216 sunnysky on it, and will probably stick that on the MSH with 4s to improve that :D

Also printing out a mobius/fatshark pan mount I've just drawn up. It's very basic but I'll share the stl if it fits and works. ;D

 Yes, the Batteries were there!!!!! I only got one of the 8000 4s though as I didn't want to order 2 and then they were too heavy and of no use..... I may regret that decision if I want another, and won't dare order one with the motor, in case that makes it take another two weeks! :laugh: :laugh:

The mobius and fatshark mount seems to work  ;D Both cams just push in and hold well without additional fixing, so very pleased with that. It does wobble a tiny bit, but I think it's just a tiny bit of play in the servo(it's just mounted on a £2 mg90s for now as I'm waiting on some new 180 servos)

That's quite large to be on the front of your plane, hope you're not going for efficiency  ;)

I was planning to cut a hole in the top of the foam and have the servo recessed inside. I'll then mount the fpv and HD cam side by side on top.

Similar to what I did here:



I don't have a 3d printer so bodged it with a piece of plywood  :D

 I'll see how it goes. The front of the servo bit is rounded and the cam part presents little more than the two cams would anyway(and probably less than yours will as I'm using the dinky little fatshark cam)

Makes perfect sense to mount the servo inside though, where it would catch no wind........ Still I want the cams right on the nose so they don't see any plane, so digging out foam might weaken it a bit much there. A bit of reinforced tape would take care of that though....lol.   I can always make a modified one, cheers dp106, point taken :)

My plan was to use the base of the fpv pod that comes with it. Glue that on top and cut a hole for the servo through it and the foam. Hopefully should still be quite strong that way

 Just at the stage where I'm putting everything inside in preparation to glue the fuse and fly the damn thing now lol. I've made my very first dipole to go on this and was just wondering about position. Will it be badly affected by having the motor wires pass right by? This is pretty unavoidable with everything going in the fuselage.

A pic will explain better :)

2 things...

1. The motor wires and the dipole are at 90 degrees to each other, so the electromagnetic interference is greatly reduced compared to if you had them parallel

2. The motor wires arent sending pure linear DC power down the cables at a constant rate as the pulses are phased to make the motor spin, so again the interference should be minimal compared to if it was next to a power cable for instance.

I would like to think it would be OK like that picture, however I used the standard monopole that the RX came with and had my minitalon out to 2.1km on the weekend with no issues whatsoever.

Yeah, I was just worried about the close proximity really, wondering now if trying to shield any potential interference by wrapping the 3 motor wires in something foil like(like foil  :laugh:). The standard antenna is always an option directly on top and therefore out of the way. I want to do at least 5 km with this, I've only ever gone 2 before on 5.8 video and 2.4 control. This will have the UHF and 1.3, so hoping to go a bit further.

Also I was wondering about making a bracket to keep the diamond antenna upright without being uncomfortable and really handily 'thingiverse' came up trumps, there's often someone who has faced the same problem as you out there lol. This completely defeats the object of buying the ezuhf JR module but hey ho...lol

EzUHF will do 5km with a rusty coathanger stuck in the SMA port lol (I've heard someone say :) )

I personally have been to 5.5km on a 4ch lite with monopole, and low power mode on the tx with a diamond antenna.

If you want to push for 10km then dipoles are the way forward.

but theres certainly no harm in putting a dipole on a setup you don't intend to fly too far just yet.
