Windy here too,was just about making headway into the wind after esc limiter came on due to heat build up???

Came back fast on just a few amps.

Landings are difficult to judge(long glide slope),I tend to just stuff it into the corn,

Well after lots of delays for parts and then the weather, I'm pleased to say the mini talon has been maidened ;D ;D  It fliys dead good as well. No trim was needed at all with everything just being eyed level in the build. The NTM 2836 with 10x5 seems perfect, as it will climb very steeply and cruise really efficiently. Managed to get 70mph out of it but it seems to like to sit at 35-40mph flying all chilled. It is incredibly stable without any artificial stabilisation on and is just all round good :) :) :)
I made one little F*** up though, the elevator was reversed and like an idiot I reversed it on the tx without re running the vectors rx wizard, it got quite exciting when I flicked it into 2d
This was a good maiden for me as it was not only my mini talons first flight but also my ezuhf's, my first try with my homemade dipole for the uhf(only flew 800m out but it sat a 100%rssi), and my first flight with 1280 video and Burger's(my mates) 1280 skews. Everything worked splendidly 88) 88)
Makes me realise just how shite my mini sky hunter is lol.

Edit: i didn't balance the prop, hence the jello.....

Good stuff :)

At least you worked out pretty quickly what was up with the 2D mode.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Thanks  :)

It would have been a much shorter video if I hadn't of lol. I just can't believe I did that, trouble was I ran the rx wizard before installing it and when I tried the control surfaces, I just reversed the elevator and didn't give it another thought.....  Glad I did at least have the sense to try the 2d modes at height and not stuck it straight into it after taking off

Nice one jt.

How hot was your motor when you came down.

I'm trying to figure out if the specs are wrong and it's under propped.
Before I get a new motor.

I might just take the motor out my eflite rarebear.
8x8 and 6s would certainly make it entertaining (if only lol)

Motor was warm but not by any means too hot. It drew 30A WOT. Might be worth cutting a vent if you fly hard, you could even print a little scoop to direct air into a hole.  10x5 seems a good prop for the 1200 version of the motor  :D

I think you've convinced me I'll give that one a try.

I'll still remove the excess foam covering the motor though.
Just cut it off in one.

I can glue it back if it makes no difference lol

I now know what to do when my roll rate is crap and slow.

Reverse the elevator and trick it :D

  Still can't believe I did that. I'd better remember to sort it before I go out with it again lol.
Looking forward to how stable the vector will keep it though. With stabilisation off the thing was more stable than the mini sky hunter with it on! lol

Yeah, I like the way the mini talon just stays in whatever attitude you put it lol... straight as an arrow.

especially helpful when launching, normally my skywalker will drop a wing or something... this just goes where I put it... like it's on rails or something.
