Mine's just been loaded in the car to take to the field for it's maiden.

Flying LOS cos didn't have time last night to fit the FPV cam and vtx..... so this won't qualify for an FPV maiden unfortunately  >:(

Successful maiden, only LOS
No FPV gear or flight controller fitted yet
This thing is fast, set it to 75% throttle to launch and thought "this feels to be pulling too strong" so launched at 50%
I needed a good bit of down trim to get level flight at half throttle.
A few fly pasts at full throttle and it accelerates really fast.
Well pleased, I can add the go faster trims now !

I'm glad I've held back building mine, there's some great ideas for mounting cameras on this thread now! 

If anyone else is interested, there is 1 mini Drak kit left.  I've also got three of the nose cones in as well, although I like the look of the 3d printed ones better!

Maidened mine today, was tail heavy for first flight so stuck a 5200 in there and second flight was perfect 😁

Is anyone using 1.3 on theirs? I like the idea of 1.3 and uhf but not sure how well that's going to work with everything so close together

Enjoying watching the builds and seeing the chat on different kit to be used.

When I get one it will definitely be 1.3 and UHF. I plan to design mine portable for international travel too. :D

It does look like the ultimate portable plane.

For those worried about uhf and 1.3 separation it would be quite easy to run a uhf antenna an extra 8" out on one wing- assuming you don't need it collapsible of course.

Having said that- its not going to be a long range plane- 5km max so I suspect most uhf systems won't mind.

But you can hack them and finish them off neatly  :D I don't feel like my big Dark looks messy and I have the gear out on the wings. I'll probably do the same with the MD
