can we forget the sma's and solder straight onto the board?

Heres a little practise track I just penciled... using my old mans land, its on a slope so you're flying up and down hill and the right hand straight is done below tree cover.

Devonian

If you have RG316 or similar Teflon coax, then solder straight to the board.

Nigel.
You're only jealous 'cos the voices aren't talking to you  :D

hexo

My Park Jets finished. Hope to maiden it tonight before it gets to dark.

AUW is 290g. Seems very light indeed.

Pasty

mines 320g minus fpv gear... not aot init... will it make a difference? we'll find out  :)

g.collins

I have soldered the clover to the VTX but I have used the SMA on the VRX. my one is 339g with both battery's and FPV gear ready to race

thats light G, looks like mines going to be the fat minger of the group.

whats your cofg?

Did you notice any toque roll when you throttle up quickly? mine rolls over quite a bit

Pasty

Practise circuit number 2.

Pasty

south point races logo?

just something i nicked off the net.

g.collins

there is know toque roll, but I have just put a straight through mount like you now, so perhaps there might be now, on the original mount, the motor is pointing back to the right, perhaps that makes a difference.
the CG on my one is slightly nose heavy of the slots with the FPV kit on.

Pasty

hhhmmmm might be the bigger prop I'm running.

Racers...

Now that looks bloody good fun!

Hope you guys record some of this action for us all to watch :)
- Still learning every day -

Pasty

there will be plenty of video thats for sure... there will be fixed cameras on track and someone on a HD camera ship filming the action from the air... plus the onboard stuff.

The race teams gathered at Gordons work shop today for a clover leaf antenna master class followed by the first test flights with all our planes up at once... which was rather fun :)

hexo

They fly good! Not to fast and that's okay as we'll end up in trees one after another!

Clover leaf and skew planar pretty much sorted. Thanks for the parts and explanation Babs ! They should do us nicely.

Come on cameras! Its quite annoying having to wait for just them to get FPV going!

Pasty

just like you said G... I ripped out the channel 3 track on the vtx :(

So I've gone hard solder over channel 1, 2 and grounded onto the metal case which makes me fixed to channel 4.

Coyote

This should be funny to watch
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)
