I've never weighed mine.  I shall do that this weekend I think.

I'm now tempted to get some larger batteries, just to see how long I can keep my MT in the air for!  What sort of flight times are you achieving with the 8000mAh 4s packs mutley?

I've decided to jump on this bandwagon.  The price of them had gone up a bit but a 15% code off at Banggood tipped me back over the edge (BG15%OFF if anyone needs anything).  Hopefully got enough suitable gubbins lying around at home to get it in the air.

Good stuff.

Anyone fancy a Mini Talon meet?  It would be a laugh to get a squadron of them in the air at the same time!  We've got some cracking scenery here in North Wales if anyone fancies it...

Thanks all for the thoughts on the larger motor option.  I think I'll shove it in and see how it goes   ;D   This is actually for the "spare" MT, that I hadn't been planning to build just yet.

The 'main' Mini Talon has the recommended size motor in it and was all ready to go until I realised the gyros weren't working on the MFD AP.  I'm still waiting for a new board price or some kind of fix.  I've emailed MFD  twice but haven't had any response at all grumble, grumble, bloody grumble, so god knows when that will get airborne.    >:(

I'll keep you posted .   :)

Newbie question, can the Storm run on 4S ok?

I just ordered a 1038kv Leopard motor for my Mini Talon build.....Now I need to find a nice 8 x 4 or 8 x 5 Prop for it....They look nice quality in the photos with a prop hub too..

Tempted to get another Storm AP.... £79 on E-Bay....UK supplier...

4S Lipo....but...which one...?

Yes, you can use a 4S Lipo, and the Storm will display the Main Lipo voltage pack and the current being drawn. But, you need to supply a clean 12vdc to the Camera and VTX. To do this requires a 12vdc regulator to drop and regulate the voltage for the Video side. Fairly simple really, it's covered in the Storm manual showing the two pin jumper positioning.

The only reason I asked is because all the documentation I've seen says 3S batteries for the Storm, thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah you need to be a bit careful here.  Although the current sensor can happily monitor a 4S battery you cannot power the Storm itself directly from the battery like you could with a 3S.  You'd need to move the jumper and use a 12V regulator to drop the voltage or, as some people do, a separate battery.

I use 4s in all my storms and tornados.

With a separate 3s lipo ranging from 800mah - 2150mah.
Depending on 4s used I balance it with the 3s.

Yes, be careful, the Storm wont like anything greater than 12vdc, which normally, most Cameras and vtxs are designed to run on....Check your polarity and wiring well before switching on.
It threw me when I first did it as well.....just triple check you have it correct....I think if you search, there is a schematic on here which shows it better than the Storm manual......I think Blueflyer helped me with this one...:)
