I'm a fan of AXI & Hyperion motors. Just need to narrow down some options.
What flight times are folk expecting to get? Was hoping for about 15min of spirited flight.
Also need to decide if I want to drop a FC in it or keep it nice & simple. Tempted by the iNav idea though rather than a Vector.
Ey-up!

Mine arrived yesterday along with the box of bits for the build, it's a lot smaller than I imagined, but should be super portable and looks awesome!

I printed off a nose mount for the Runcam 2 and swift, design courtesy of Havard on FPVLab -

Looks good and although it requires a bit of foam removal it should be solid once done.

Yeah ok, I'll give you that one! But to support a single camera type via a moulded cutout would be a bit of a stupid design. I was meaning more you don't need to dig foam out for every component. :P

I know, I don't mind though, any excuse to use that gif! :D

Looks good with the single RC2 ,but I`m gonna need an 1177 alongside.Just got to pluck up courage to carve the nose up.

Those look pretty awesome Chris! I think I'm going to go down the laminate route on mine, want it to be as durable as possible, and wipe clean is a bonus for muddy fields!

Can you PM me it again just to be sure? Just cover the postage and it'll be fine really, say £3? What size is your 1177? I know theres a few different versions kicking about.

Anyone else looking for one let me know as well and I'll run off a batch of them. Havards design is nice and simple but works well from what I can see so far! Theres 3 versions, one for RC2 on it's own, one with a RC2 + foxeer HS1177 and one for the RC2 + RC Swift.

Can do them in black, grey, yellow, white, clear or red PLA, or light blue glow in the dark ABS.

Cheers Jake, I'll get yours printed off over the weekend and sent out on Tuesday (bank holiday Monday).

I got all of the sparring done and laminated the whole thing as well in the last few days, so just need my F3 boards to arrive to get the electronics started. I didn't have laminate left but I took a load of laminating pouches (A4 and A3) from work, cut them into two and it works a treat! It's actually easier than using a roll as you build it up. A3 was the perfect size for the wings! It's absolutely solid now, I think it will handle crashes well although I don't aim to be testing that! :P

Painted a bit of red on the bottom, the top will be getting some decals that are on order.

Made a bit more progress on mine tonight, got the elevons cut, painted and laminated, and took some brave pills and cut the nose off to put on the 3D printed one. I drilled 3 small holes and used some of the left over fibreglass spar to act as guides and to give it a bit more strength, and drilled some matching holes in the foam. Then covered it in glue and it is now covered in masking tape to dry overnight! The fit seemed good, but tomorrow will tell for sure!

I also ran off the mounts for Jake and Dillwhacker, I'll get them in the post tomorrow guys!
