Be interesting to see how you rate the Mini Drak against the Z3 iwan, keep posting the pic's guys  :D
Skyhunter, Drak, Mini Talon, Z3, Z2 and 250 Vortex. :overexcited:

Anyone care to tell what you are gluing yours together with?
Everywhere says Goop, but it's mighty hard to find in the UK.
Most wings go together pretty well with UHU POR - so what's the thoughts on this Drak jobbie?
Any secret outlets of the magic Goop ?

I ran out of the Marine Goop I had and couldn't find anywhere in the UK with any.

I'm now using E6000 on the mini Drak and it seems almost the same stuff and available...

I believe that Shoo Goo is pretty much the same as Goop.  It's made by the same company and I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff just marketed differently.

Ah yeah, that's another one of the same company's products.

I've actually just been using some stuff I got from Hobbyking, it's really cheap but seems really solid once dried, but still has a bit of flex. I'm sure someone will tell me it's terrible and shouldn't be used, but the way this thing goes together I don't think anything is going to move or break, there are many layers of redundancy in most of the connections.

The reviews were all favourable so I gave it a go and it seems good so far. I ordered 3 tubes not realising that they are quite big, but should last me a while!

Yeah it will be interesting to see, it's not that much smaller in terms of wingspan but it really is a much smaller plane if that makes any sense. Hopefully this will have less 'incidents' than my Z3! :P

I found some e6000 available on eBay. Bought three tubes of it as it brought the price down to just over  £7 a tube. Used just short of one tube on the drak so worth getting more than one tube to be safe I think

ok - so I printed the same nose cone as Ewan & also added spars to it (great idea)

Cut the nose & fitted the cone...but im not sure I like it?

It looks untidy to me...I think I prefer the cams 'sunk in' like this...

Then perhaps add the Ritewing nose cone later?

What ya think?

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi -you're my only hope.

It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense...

I'm undecided about the nose, think I'll cut my cams in for starters rather than 3D printing.

I've 3D printed a set of wing joiners rather than use velcro

and waiting for some 'O' rings to arrive for them.

My Z3 has O rings and they work well, my big Drak has the velcro and it doesn't hold the wings tight enough (fins wobble) so I've also printed some joiners for that.

Cheers for wisdom about glue chaps.
I've only ever come across shoe goo before, and it seemed pretty damn good stuff.
So will prolly get some 6000 and and then become all un-decided....

Yeah, after unmasking mine today and looking at it I'm not totally sold on it either. It will make the correx stuff harder to mount and moving it in and out will be a bit of a pain...

There is another version -

This is basically like the Z3 nose I designed ages ago, but it uses bolts so you can access from the front and don't need to cut out the channel and insert the camera from the rear. I'm thinking this is a neater design, may print one off and try. Just a bit annoying that I've cut a chunk out already, but hey-ho.

Haha - im in exactly the same position - I do like that other design, not keen on unscrewing the front cover just to turn the cam on/off.

I have run your Z3 nose all last year & it works really well - I might try my own design in sketch-up based on your Z3 nose.

Yeah, I think I'll do the same! I have the nose modelled up now so shouldn't take me too long to do. I'll get it done tomorrow!

My omnibus F3 boards arrived today so I got all the electronics wired up, powered up and no smoke so that's good! Not getting any OSD so need to spend some time working out how to flash the inbuilt OSD. Got iNav on the board fine.

After that all I really need to do is get the servo linkages on, and the wing joiners! Think I'll go the 3D printed route for those as well.

have a small hole above where your runcam power button is, then just poke something down there to turn it on/off and record.

That's what I do with my Mini Talon canopy

Yea - that would work.
When I 1st got my RC2 is would start recording when external power was applied, then stop recording when the external power was removed.
So once the RC2 was mounted (in my Z3) all I had to do was connect the main battery pack & it would start recording automatically, then fly, land, remove main pack - it would then stop recording - it was an awesome feature - fit, fly & forget HD cam.
It never missed a flight - I loved it!
I then updated the f/ware & that feature was removed...ffs.

I asked Runcam about it & they confirmed it had been removed & will not return...ffs...
